Why, when this is Yahoo UK and Ireland, do some of you insist on answering questions with something along the lines of 'Well, obviously it differs which state you're in...' or 'It depends on your state...' etc.

...just why.

Why when we see people, do we always have to ask how are you, then they always respond fine. I know it is "proper" and everything, but is there something else we can ask that wouldn't offend someone? I'd like to try something else because personally I can't stand it anymore lol. Thanks!

Does the IRS patrol Ebay looking to collect income from sellers? Does anyone have any first or even secondhand knowledge of sellers being pursued by the IRS? Does Ebay cooperate in giving out this information? My race always seems to be a topic of conversation with this particular colleague. I am british born chinese. Today she asked me if I can cook chinese and I said yes I can make stir fries but not everything...then she said surely you can...you are chinese arent you? I said yes she said again arent you chinese ?
I said yes again (at this point Im not sure what to make of what shes saying, she seemed condescending). Then she says do u english food? I felt like laughing at such a stupid question at that point....Then she was imitating a chinese accent at me....was she being racist to me? And if so what should I do if she does something similar again?

Dont say tell your boss because I want to deal with this situation as and when it happens at that moment in time.

With a very few word substitutions the hard lines of the Islamic far right and the Christian far right could easily be those of the so-called neocons. They all spout the same sort of drivel. A recent quite disgraceful Question asked why (presumably Americans) should be treated by 'outside' doctors from countries where they'd studied. A sad, and benighted question admittedly, - but wouldn't it be more appropriate to ask where the USA would be if only 'home-grown doctors' were allowed to practice?

I have brown eyes like millions of people do, so I'm wondering are most people bored of seeing them as they're quite common?

I've thought about contacts(bored of my eye colour) but I'm worried about something touching my iris and pupil, and I'd probably look completely weird and scary anyway with them in!

Oh, and is being mixed mean you're seen as prettier by others? I'm not mixed(as seen in my avatar) but I wondered what others thought.
