Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of free speech?

Dan B. - People need to remember that offense is a conscious choice. If somebody offends you, it's because you LET THEM. Whether they should be saying such things is a seperate matter; you have the choice to walk away and not let it bother you.

We have the right to say anything that doesn't offend people with special rights (they, however, have the right to say anything they please). Other than that we have the right to remain silent. You have a good point. That's not my definition of freedom of speech either.

unfastened Speech is unfastened until such as you pronounced it collides with someones view that contradicts then it incredibly is shot down like a looking chum at Dick Cheney's abode. So in actuality unfastened speech would not incredibly exist anymore and despite if it does President (Insert ideas here) will eliminate it quickly adequate.

Free Speech is free until like you said it collides with someones view that contradicts then it's shot down like a hunting buddy at Dick Cheney's house. So basically free speech doesn't really exist anymore and even if it does President (Insert Brain Here) will dispose of it soon enough.

If you are talking about on this site, there IS no freedom of speech guaranteed here, because this is a privately owned (by Yahoo) site. Therefore, they CAN (and DO, obviously) set rules that need to be obeyed or we will suffer from the consequences.

You don't have to be politically correct. Freedom of speech and public opinion are 2 different things.

Your speech doesn't HAVE to be politically correct, but any decent human being will make an attempt to not offend lots of people when they speak. That isn't too much to expect, is it?

You can be as politically incorrect as you like, but it says a lot about your character.

It doesn't have to be politically correct. Only the spineless liberals try to use political correctness when they should be more realistic. Your freedom of speech is limited as well.

Thank you .
Notice how certain things are called the opposite of what they represent - to razzle dazzle the public into giving up certain freedoms & rights .."political correctness".."Fairness Doctrine"..

Freedom of Speech is your right as a human being to express what you want ,to be politically correct is your obligation to society as not to be degenerative in what you say.or degrading the peolpe you say it to. Voltaire said"I may not agree with what you say but I defend to the death your right to say it". Poeple don't have to be offensive to have their voice heard.

I'll give you an example:
Hi, you stupid ***********, why are you wasting our time with these white trash questions?Your mother should have sent you to school, instead of smoking qrack and fornicating with hideaways . See? that's not nice, and might offend.Besides, it could easily be reformulated, and yet contain all the insults anyway. love from Denmark.
