Hello - This is for those outside the US as I am wondering about the United States' ability to mend fences with our global neighbors after the next election.
So, I'll ask a hard question.
Would it matter to you if our next President were a White Woman or a Black Man? Would one or the other be more likely to be successful in bringing our communities together after the wreck that has been made by the current administration?
I know it should not matter, but recent questions I've read here lead me to believe that racism and gender inequality may be more or less prevalent in countries and societies other than ours. So, I am curious.
Does your country have societal mores that would make it difficult for one or both?
Oh, and if you do not mind doing so, please tell me where you live - even just the country. Thanks !

I can think of the following:
The heritage of Christian anti-semitism, both Catholic and Protestant.
A neo-pagan revulsion against the Ten Commandments, directed at the Jews as their perceived origin.
A Nietzschean opposition to the Christian ethic of compassion and equality, displaced unto the weaker and more vulnerable Jews, since a direct attack on Christianity would have been more difficult.
Projection of German negative qualities (self-centredness, racial pride etc.) unto a group (the Jews) perceived to have similar qualities (we always dislike most in others our own negative qualities).
The association of Jews with finance and money-lending, since historically other areas had been closed to them.
What other reasons were there?
No racist rants please, particularly illiterate ones. Thanks!

The UN conducted a worldwide survey.

The only question asked was:

"Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?"
The survey was a huge failure.

In Africa, they didn't know what 'food' meant.

In India, they didn't know what 'honest' meant.

In Europe, they didn't know what 'shortage' meant.

In China, they didn't know what 'opinion' meant.

In West Asia, they didn't know what 'solution' meant.

In South America, they didn't know what 'please' meant.

And in the US, they didn't know what 'the rest of the world' meant.

A creep keeps calling me @ work...?
I am a receptionist. I keep getting this creepy phone call from this guy saying his name is Scott and asks do I remember him, he was in the office the other day. I say how may I help you? Then he says "you don't remember me, its Scott" and never gives a last name. And he talks in a creepy psyco voice. MOST Creepy my husband's name is Scott. I work with several other women, answering the same phone but this Scot person never talks to them. Sould I be concerned. And no its not my husband I know his voice and he doesn't beleive in prank calls. My office doesn't have caller id but I guess we should get it.

I live in Louisiana and I'm so sick of the Katrina Victims complaining about the government not helping. I think if you had no flood/home insurance, oh well. You don't hear people in Southern AL/MS complaining. They all got together and helped everyone clean up and fix things. You would think that New Orleans was the only place affected by Katrina. When all they received was flooding. Anyone else disagree?

I drive a large truck and see this all the time at red lights. Are they trying to expose themselves or is this a comfortable way to sit while driving? Is this where they like the air condition to blow? I see this so often, yet my girlfriend doesn't do it and she can't give me an answer as to why so many women i see throughout the day do this.

everyone pines for raising the minimum wage. why? you know what will happen, small business owners will just pass that cost to the consumer and as wages go up, so will prices.
it is simple, prices will always keep up with wages. wages will not keep up with prices. some will thing that to be unfair. but, if i have to give my employees a raise then why can't i give myself a raise?
my employee base is largely immigrant and largely hispanic. and best to my knowledge, none are illegal. i have to ask for 2 forms of government issued ID and that is usually a SSN and a drivers license. it is not my job to determine if those are forged or not. if i have to do background checks, that costs money and again, that gets passed to the consumer. you may tolerate a few cents raise in prices, but i doubt you will want to pay a dollar or more per item. so, why does anyone think minimum wage will solve anything?

Does that mean when a white man from south africa comes to the usa is he categorized the same as a black man from africa doesn’t it sound smarter to say if you are from africa black or white your African and if your black white or in between and are born in the usa your American ya i can understand people being subcategorized as a black American or white American.... but why are black people that are born in the usa referred to as African Americans they weren’t born there not only black people come from africa there are allot of whites... its called south africa?

I am a plain-Jane type, and I don't wear all high fashion stuff(or make-up for that matter); only jeans and different types of short-sleeve shirts(no cleavage(sp?) showing) and yet whenever I walk to school(my college is only five streets up) I get these weird looks from several different guys. Right now I'm just trying to get my degree and therefore, not interested in picking up a boyfriend. That being said, how do I get rid of this problem?
