Having grown up in the US, I understand that drinking can a social activity and that many people consider it fun and like doing it. I'm a non-drinker, but I have nothing against people that drink or judge them any differently for it. So kindly hear me out.
What I don't get is that if its illegal for a minor (< 21) to drink, why is it legal for a non-minor (21+) to do so? I mean, sure, protecting a child or youth from the harmful effects of alcohol is important, but every life is precious, not just a minor! I mean, 21, in my opinion is still pretty young to be playing around with one's life. Also, has one really gained a lot of maturity between the ages of 20 and 21 (where the cutoff lies in this country)? I somehow think not. I guess its assumed that by that time people can make suitable decisions about drinking, but unfortunately, one hears of so many DUI and drinking-related calamities, under-age or not, that it is difficult to guarantee this.

I get really tired of people making comments about how sad it must be that my child is an only child. It's not like I planned to have only one child, but that is how the good Lord planned it. I haven't been on birth control since he was two, and he is now 14. My husband and I haven't done anything medically to have more, just think if it was meant to be it would be. I just feel lucky I had one at all. How would you respond to people's comments like "why only one?" and "how sad for your child that he doesn't have a brother/sister". I don't really think it is any of their business but feel I should respond. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I just had a racist comment made by someone answering one of my questions. I am wondering, since, what nationality you think I am, because of this.

I didn't take their comment badly...so don't worry, but it's just that I never asked before what race people think I am.

Accurate answer gets points!

understand why this seems to be a question with little or no substance. I've violated the rules and been accused of "abuse" before and do not wish to offend anyone. So my question is "do you prefer coffee or tea in the morning?". Again I beforehand apologize if anyone is shocked or offended by this rather controversial question. I've consulted several legal agencies and they've advised me that I should be alright with this question. I respectfully request that you answer in a manner that avoids any possible charges of abuse or racism, sexism, ageism, and that all legal and fiduciary constraints have been fulfilled. I hereby attest that this question was asked with no malice nor intent of malice nor disrespect towards any race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity or national origin. I further attest that I recieved nor will receive no financial gain nor renumeration from the aforementioned question. Thank you.

It's just getting so you can't watch anything except Nick at Night without being exposed to some sort of carnal activities. In PRIME TIME no less! And they barely leave anything to the imagination...they practically show it all! It's like "okay, okay we get it! Get back to the plot already!" I actually get embarrassed when these scenes come on even if I'm the only one in the room. And they throw these scenes in there when they have absolutely NOTHING to do with the story line. When Rhett Butler carried Scarlett O'Hara up that staircase, you automatically KNEW what was going to happen next...there was no need to be graphic about it. And actually, it was a lot more romantic...leaving something to the imagination.
