It's called self gratification. On the other side of the coin so to speak - it's usually best to ignore the wrong doer because that person will get the comeuppance they deserve. You just hope you are around to see it!

Revenge never solves anything. It just becomes a battle of they said/ I said. It never ends. Do not wallow in self pity. You got emotionally sucker punched. OK, life is hard. Be the better person, be the better soul, and move the heck on. There is nothing you can do to change the behavior of another, especially not if that act has already occurred. It's happened, it did damage. Now, you have the choice of moving on with dignity, or allowing the other person to watch you continue to be angry and sad, and upset. Rise above this, there is another old saying, 'Kill them with kindness'...and honey, it works. You are the better person, walk away from this like one like you were never touched by it in the first place. Don't give this person the satisfaction of seeing you unhappy, at least, not over this.

That is a really good question. I think it is an irrational human response (excluding the stopping the person from continuing to do what they're doing). The closest I can get to is that misery likes company.

I still do take revenge.and i do mean REVENGE, i usually give back ten times what they give to me, and i know it may be wrong but i feel they must reap what they have sown. i wish to see it now, even though my dear mother told me to let God do it, as he can do a much better job and i don't feel good are bad, i just wish for them to receive punishment and when i do the deed i forget it.my father said don't get mad. get even.

It might be called the good old "law of retribution", talion, retaliation, the principle of eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth - the good old biblical penalty.

Michelle,
SIN has it's place and it generally has that kind of feeling to it. PLease attempt to keep a strong conviction. Read, study, and follow GOD's WORD, the Bible. Have a great day.
Thanks,
Eds
