Here's a new one for you - I get claustrophobic if someone talks to me too long. Isn't that nuts - ? It is a kind of auditory claustrophobia. I will sometimes be dining in a restaurant and someone will be talking on and on and on and on and on and it makes me claustrophobic. I usually grab a paper napkin and make ear plugs, and then I can feel my stomach begin to relax. I don't actually wear socks in bed, but this is the first winter in Maine, U.S.A. when I have been comfortable and feeling really good inside wearing a light flannel shirt to bed to keep my upper body a little bit warmer while I sleep through the night. I will sometimes begin to feel claustrophobic if I am around someone who is not happy inside. I start to tune into that subliminally, empathically, and it begins to close in on me little by little, and so I try to lighten that person's aura or their disposition generally by engaging them in conversation, and if they do not begin to lighten up, I have to literally step back in order to feel okay again inside myself. Inside my psyche. There, now you've had a brief peek inside the brain of someone who is 63 years old, a Cancerian, a homemaker of sorts, someone who lives with his Soulmate for over forty-seven years... I hope you have a great weekend, what remains of it. Happy Spring, too! - C.

I can go to bed with all my clothes on and not get claustrophobic. But I do have to drink a lot of beer first.
The only thing then that keeps me awake is if someone is in there with me. then yes the socks come off.

ha ha, I am glad I'm not the only one. I have a really nice little locket on a chain that my mum bought me and I wear it all the time, but sometimes when I'm in bed I get all claustrophobic with it round my neck and because it has a fiddly little clasp on it it takes a few minutes to get off sometimes and it leaves me sweating and red faced, almost ready to just tear it off !

That's great... what a great question! I can't stand sleeping with socks on. It drives me crazy. Socks seem to make my blankets go crazy and wrap around my feet. I used to think it was the Boogie Man making a noose around my feet to hang me up from the ceiling fan. Once I took the socks off, he stopped!
