i met manytimes with people, offering me a help on some matters. But at the end, i found that they actually expecting for having a business with me.

and I met with another guy who says "hmm...we are a mutual friends, you can take something from me, i can be save with you"...i was very surprised cos i didnt think anything in return for just making a friend with him.

well, is it culturally normal in US or other west side countries to do HELP in terms of business? Generally, will you do a favor or helping on other people's matter without expecting anything in return? or you prefer to help in terms of business?

I made a big mistake moving to Cancun with my 2 kids. At the time, I had my reasons and it all seemed to be good. I work here and earn enough to barely survive. I want to come back to the US. I can't take this anymore, but how can I do this on an income of $700 a month? Are there any organizations that would be willing to help me? I am not a "welfare" recipient. I have a college diploma in medical office and transcription and I work. I just need a little boost to get me home.

I asked this yesterday and took advice; however, I was told no. Does anybody have any other ideas?

Are women more likely to get angry at their coworkers than men are?

It seems that many women seem to be constantly angry with their coworkers over petty or minor disputes - while most men seem to be able to totally forget about minor workplace disagreements when they go home at the end of the day.

Why is that?

I live in a peaceful small town but recently there has been a lot of chaos. One of our most respectable town members, we call him Boss Man, was a former prison guard.

About a month ago, an ex-con who calls himself Nailz, took out ads in the local paper that alleged he was abused by former prison guard (Boss Man) while in prison and also claimed to be innocent of his crimes.

Last weekend at the town carnival, after the arm wrestling competition, Nailz – dressed in orange prison garb (I'm sure bought outside prison) and hell-bent on revenge – charged and brutally attacked Boss Man, eventually using a nightstick to injure his one-time tormentor.

My question - shouldn't the police have done something when Nailz was putting these ads in the paper? If they were proactive Boss Man would not have endured this beating.

So because race in North America is not a good measure for a person's personality, as it is not a choice, so there are a number of other things that come into play to determine personality, can we instead infer personality traits based on personal fashion choices?

Do people dress a certain way to reveal their inner selves, and is that readable by other persons? Or is it another personal identifier that means nothing like your skin colour?

i was just watching an old OZU film, and one of the characters mentioned being "alone, but with strangers..in silence."

what other activities can you engage in where you are in the company of others...but there is no need to talk ie...where you can be silently together but whilst engaged in some activity.

i think this i why i find monasteries intriguing..because you can actively ENJOY silence, in others company...without the need to engage in nauseous small talk....that is just talking for the sake of filling space......
maybe only lovers of taoist landscapes with great areas of emptyness will appreciate the liberating relaxed feeling im talking about, when you are just silently with others and no one feels the need to break the silence.

You know what gets on my nerves, is all of these celebrities complaining about the paparazzi and media chasing them. Well you know what I say to that...it comes with the territory. People who want to be rich and famous should know what they are getting into. Sure we all deserve our privacy but if you want to be famous then you should realize that part of being famous is always being watched. So in reality I would just rather be rich and quiet about it. My question is, do you agree with what Im saying and what would you consider to be the pros and cons of being famous?

I'm confused. So when did it become okay for white people to cry "discrimination" anytime the goverment gives blacks a break? How come blacks are now "whining" and "living in the past" when we talk about slavery issues and the mis-treatment of our great-grand parents. When did white guys start wearing doo-rags and bumping Tupac in their cadillacs?

trying to better a situation instead of complaining and feelng sorry for ourselves we would have made it in the world already? don't give me the BS about how African Americans are succesful because at least 90% of our community live in ghettos where the median income is $33,000. Im 15 and I see grown men everyday sitting around doing nothing but complain about how America is keeping them down..its true but the resources are definitely there to make it. The Jews went through the holocaust and with hard work now they're are a successful community. Middle-Easterners receive more discrimination TODAY because of 9/11 and yet they're doing better than the black community. Final question.. why do African kids who come here do better than home-born black kids..?(yes its a fact so don't try to counter it) Sometimes I feel sorry that people such as MLK and the Freedom Riders (who were half white by the way..so not all whites are devils) had to sacrifice themselves for what we have today

Lets face it. The Earth is becoming overpopulated. If we continue to pump out babies faster than we can count... The world will be a very different place than it is now in 50 years. It would prbley be to dangerous just to go outside.

What do you think? Would you support population laws if they were proposed? Especially for nations like the U.S.

The U.S. recently reached a population of 300,000,000.

and rising.

If the answer is yes, then couldn't pro-choicers make an arguement that since abortion is in fact legal, why not extend the time alloted for having one until the age of 18? That would be a great thing hanging over children's heads across the nation.

Some people start to think about having kids, getting married, buying a house, settling into a way of life in their early twenties and get accused of being too young, of not making the most of their youth. Others are still single, living in rented flats, temping jobs, travelling well into their thirties and forties and often get attacked by parents, friends and exasperated partners for "not growing up and being responsible."
So do you think "settling down" is something we should all do at some point?
At what age should you start thinking about it?
Do you think less of people of a certain age who won't commit to a relationship or job or way of life, or do you admire them for going against the grain? Are they just irresponsible and immature?
What do we mean by "settling down" anyway?
