Are there any agencies that help US Citizens return home once economically trapped in a foreign country?

I made a big mistake moving to Cancun with my 2 kids. At the time, I had my reasons and it all seemed to be good. I work here and earn enough to barely survive. I want to come back to the US. I can't take this anymore, but how can I do this on an income of $700 a month? Are there any organizations that would be willing to help me? I am not a "welfare" recipient. I have a college diploma in medical office and transcription and I work. I just need a little boost to get me home.

I asked this yesterday and took advice; however, I was told no. Does anybody have any other ideas?

I didn't come here seeking money. I came here to be with my fiance. We are still together as of yet, but I can't continue to live like this.

The only thing i could think of would be to call the US Embassy in Mexico City. Although they have many different locations throughout Mexico. They might be able to help you out. Here is the Link : http://mexico.usembassy.gov/mexico/contact_us.html

Ask a contact (family/friends) in the U.S. to loan you the money so that you may come home.

You can also try get a credit card or something like that so you can use those funds to get you back to the U.S.

I dont know of any agencies I'm sorry.

well i am of british heritage and i was trapped in dusseldorf germany once without money or a return ticket. i went to the british consular there and they gave me money to eat and bought me a one way ticket to london. so i should imaginr=e the US has this facility too. good luck. and next time keep this in mind, third world countries are places people go to retire once they have money not a place to go seek for money.
