That when you start getting involved with the Internet, you seem to stop learning?

I mean conversing with people is fine and there is a certain exchange, but at a certain point the chit-chatting has a way of stealing away time when you could be studying or reading.

there's this guy who would approach me on the bus stop..he would talk to me about the bus being late, or ask if the bus is coming soon.. or if I know the time (always like this)...and seems to be waiting for the bus too...but when the bus comes he would go away and not board it (I dont know whether he lives nearby)...Im getting scared of him since this had happend several times now and he had told me a few times he find me very pretty (I don't find it a compliment, it sounds more of a threat).I dont know any self defence and Im only 5'2" and slim built, can't run very fast or far either...any idea what I can do if ever he attacks me?...

Hi! Best answer, 10 points. Promise!

Okay a friend of mine who I haven't seen in ages is coming up to my city midweek, for just a day. Seeing as we're both students we're both pretty broke and don't have a lot of money. Any ideas of how to spend a cheap day in the city? I checked and theres not many free events on seeing as it would be a Tuesday... :(

Help appreciated! Thank You! :) xxxxx

Just help me out by sharing your opinions. I just have to know that can we anwser those question or cannot. Why? Because I don't have to answer them. My friends have to answer them. Surely this is not liberating us but chaining us to satisfy more primitive and base desires. Women are literally starving themselves to death and going into massive debt trying to get plastic surgery that they believe will turn back the hands of time. Why are women valuing themselves according to their looks and by how attractive they look to other people?

Of course this is a weakness that is manipulated by the beauty and fashion industry to generate billions of pounds out of us.
I notice that this is especially prominent in westernised cultures.
Women claim that they are doing this for themselves...but we know that this is just not true, if it were then we would all be wearing Jimmy Choos and Dolce & Gabbanas indoors.

We are made to believe that if we dont have that perfect face or body then we are worth less than the other person that has better looks...this is mind control and it is having a toxic effect on the human psyche.

Why poor people are usually overweight?
They should be thin, theoretically, dying from hunger.

Scientists are working on it right now, I think the reason people are so vehmently opposed to life extension is that they have already come to terms with the fact that aging is both gahstly and inevitable, the only way the human mind can cope with the true horror of old age and death is by convincing itself that it is a good thing, a natural thing that must occour. But given the chance I would rather live on, young and healthy, than die miserable and frail, What are your thoughts?

I have just had a nice cooked breakfast, sitting out on the decking in the sunshine of a mild English spring morning with my wifey. The birds are singing, the gentle sound of Metalica is lilting through the lounge windows (sorry neighbours!) and all is well with the world.

Has anyone else got reasons to be cheerful this Saturday morning (well, ok, it's lunchtime here but..). Or not and you need cheering up? C'mon. Share with us! Please!

I was reading many (I emphasis MANY) posts throughout the internet with people saying America has no culture. They give various reasons, but it appears the argument comes down to one thing: race. People seem to think America has absolutely no culture because of the fact that America houses people of various races, backgrounds, cultures, etc... but can't there still be a culture in America? (this is the question I want you to answer, but I'm going to give some examples below)

(I'd also like to make it clear - I'm not a "patriotic" American (which I'm sure some of you are thinking). I simply think there is more to the idea of US culture than is currently being given credit to).
