I have just had a nice cooked breakfast, sitting out on the decking in the sunshine of a mild English spring morning with my wifey. The birds are singing, the gentle sound of Metalica is lilting through the lounge windows (sorry neighbours!) and all is well with the world.

Has anyone else got reasons to be cheerful this Saturday morning (well, ok, it's lunchtime here but..). Or not and you need cheering up? C'mon. Share with us! Please!

Thank you all! I'm very touched by your answers.

And thank you ferrisob1. I'm glad you were there for her and sincerely hope it made a difference. And no, I don't think you were negative. Without the bad times, how would we appreciate the good? I think it makes it all the more important to appreciate the small things in life that make us happy and to do what we can, when we can for others.

And The Inquisitor. Let's add
"A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome, we can spare it, yellow socks
Too short to be haughty, too nutty to be naughty
Going on forty, no electric shocks!"

Well, i'm glad you're feeling cheerful! I recently split with my boyfriend and have had a really hard couple of weeks, I woke up this morning, went out in the sun and reflected about my life, realised I have everything going for me and yes suddenly i feel happy again. It's strange what a bit of sun does to us!

I do:) I'm not going into work because I didn't feel very well but now I feel better so I'm just going to spend the rest of the day 'recovering':) I'm having a relaxing day by not doing much and trying to get to level 3-only 14 points to go! It's not sunny here in Oxford though:(

Oh well, thanks for the 2 points and enjoy the rest of your day:)

I find sunny days to be an absolute drag and tremendously tedious.

However, Metallica is incredibly cool.

It's cloudy here in France but still...I am lying in bed and listening to Etta James, writing a script on the computer...there's nothing more I wish for:)

Because the cold side of the pillow feels so good. Because it's really great to have a cup of tea in your favourite mug. Because it's still cold enough to go to bed with a lovely hot water bottle.

Its 12:47am here in Victoria, Australia.

It's going to be VERY hot here tomorrow. Don't know if that is something to be happy about!!! (Its summer here)

BUT:

I have my health.

Great Husband.

Three beautiful, healthy kids.

Financial security.

Nice house/car.

Lovely neighbours/community.

If they aren't a great reason to be cheerful each day, then I don't know what is!!!!

Thanks for making me reflect on this!!

Here's one for ya, last night I spent three hours trying to convince a twelve year old in the states not to slit her wrists, the girls got soo many problems, phisical abuse, alcoholic abusive parents, we think we've got problems!!!
Thats a reason for us to push the negativity out of our own minds. Sigh, how people can do that to kids I'll never know.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be negative it just certainly puts things in perspective.
