Especially when there are other answers to the same question that are along the same lines to the ONE that they put the thumbs down on?

It seems to me that some people go through and click thumbs down to every answer, I think in the hopes of making someone feel bad about their answer. The thumbs "up/down" option makes no sense, considering we are all giving our opinions. Opinions are not right or wrong and no one else can judge them.

Whether or not a person considers an answer perfectly good depends on their perspective. This is a public site so the answers, thumbs down and thumbs up will be all over the board. None of us knows who is giving the thumbs up and thumbs down to any particular answer.

Because "along the same lines" isn't the same answer. Similar answers might get different "thumbs" because of one little detail that the rater doesn't agree with. To them, the answer might NOT be "perfectly good"...

Could be personal, they may just not like you.
They may have given a similar answer and want to knock yours down so theirs is more likely to be picked as best answer.
