If, during a regular conversation, I mentioned "the chokey" (in an appropriate context, of course), how many people do you think would know what I was talking about? Would YOU know what I was talking about?

In the place that I work, there are two guys (a girl and a boy) that always are flirting with each other, making out, touching, wrestling, ... (they are not boyfriend and girlfriend). That makes me really uncomfortable. Is it only me? Could I tell them that I am uncomfortable with this situation and if they want to make out or ... they better do it outside where I can't see? Any good solution?

I am just wondering as I am reading these questions why the United States seems to be on the bottom of the totem pole with the people who can help make a difference. C'mon Oprah. Brad, Angelina & George. I understand other countries have poverty and disease but so does the United States. Atleast American citizens try to help them selves instead of looking for handouts. Why cant charity begin at home?

There was a sign for Shampoo, Conditioner and the Ethnic Shampoo?? Its such a small thing but I was alittle offended. Doesn that mean I cant shop in the regular Shampoo and Conditioner aisle?
Will they have an Ethnic Candy aisle one day?
Will they tell me one day that they moved the Ethnic Shampoo aisle to the back of store and I can't shop in the regular Shampoos and Conditioners?
Is there and Asian Haircare aisle, Is there a Jewish Haircare Aisle?
Would you be Offended?

Please someone tell me why is this important?

I don't support the man - didn't care much for his comment that the Human Rights Act should possibly be "abolished" - so I wouldn't vote for him.

However, on a scale of 1 to 10 - this revelation about him smoking Cannabis when he was 'still wet behind the ears' rates about -50 in my book - does anyone else agree?

Why do they think people in public office should have to have a glowing halo above their heads?

What was it someone said once about 'casting the first stone'?Oh! yes Christ I believe!

Does he smoke Cannabis now or sell it in the House of Commons - if the answer's NO then why on earth does it matter so much that he did (smoke it I mean - not sell it in the House of Commons) way back when?

Afterall the man's never DENIED that he did, instead choosing to say it's his personal business - and I think he's right. If he'd denied it before then of course he'd be a liar and not fit for office - wouldn't you say?

I just wondered which, if any, nation in the world is the one that is a shining example to the rest of it, politically, ethically, socially and what not of how a nation should be.

Im talking about everything from the welfare state to foreign policy, to political freedoms and crime rates. All of the factors that one could possibly consider, with the exclusion of the weather.

I am British myself, but am the first to admit our nation has problems, if I had to guess, I would suggest possibly a Scandanavian country, maybe somewhere like Denmark or Sweden for top scores on all of the above. They're a bit too much of a welfare state perhaps, but a well established one that looks after all its citizens.

What do you think, and why? (and what the hell, tell us what coutnry you are from too)
