In the UK if you take someone's arm in your hands and twist each hand in different directions it's called a chinese burn... does anyone know why?

It dates back to 1018 AD. A chinese man called Win Po Po Ding made himself a wrisit watch but put it on before the metal had cooled thus burning himself. Hence the name Chinese burn.

Maybe it was used as a form of torture in the old days in China, but those Chinese burns don't half hurt.

I don't think this has anything to do with Chinese. Cause I never saw this in China before.

Because they where developed by masters of kung fu, to cause quick but short lasting pain to make an attaker drop thier weapon. and as you know Kung fu was developed in China
