Neither one is good for you. Both are addictive and harmful to your health. The only difference is one is legal and the other is not. I do not think cigarettes should be banned and the restrictions on where you can smoke is discrimination against people who choose to smoke. The extra $1. a pack tax is an example. The government is trying to force their preferences on us smokers. Where is our rights to the pursuit of happiness as the constitution guarantees us? Why don't they raise the tax on chocolate? People are addicted to chocolate also. Yet you can eat it anyplace you want to. Beer drinkers can drink anyplace they want to except in their cars. Where's the sense in this?? Chocolate, hamburgers, fries and ice cream are not good for your health either. They all add weight and can cause health problems. High cholesterol, diabetes, and heart problems. Is anyone trying to put a stop to fast food? Don't think so.

Cigarettes have far more negative effects than marijuana. I think it would be more important to worry about something that can give the user cancer and cause asthma in children instead of something that gives you the munchies and calms people down. When is the last time a cigarette eased the pain of a cancer patient and helped him/her eat?

Seeing as how marijuana is an illegal substance, it falls under the 'war on drugs' PSAs. There are plenty of those.
I do think we should care more about cigarettes. More people smoke them, and then do so openly. Not only are they killing themselves, but they are killing those around them, too. Cigarettes kill billions of people and people spend billions of dollars on them. We also spend the same in health care for those with smoking related illnesses. I really don't think there is a comparison here.

Why is pot illegal? It is just an herb, with many medicinal properties (if you don't smoke it that is.) Why? Because the tobacco industry is terryfied that if everybody could grow their own pot in their back garden, nobody would buy their product anymore. Cigarretes contain so many chemicals in the tobacco and in the paper it's like intaking toxic waste--as opposed to pot, that has no chemical alterations whatsoever. It's all about the almighty dollar my friend. Don't get me wrong, smoking anything is bad for your lungs etc, but pot is an illegal substance because it suits the tobacco industry. Think about it.

Cigarettes are worse. Nicotine is the most addictive drug known to man I understand. Marijuana is not physically addictive. Smoking anythng probably might cause cancer though but more from Cigs for sure

It is a question of choosing between cholera and the plague ! Both are bad and incidentally, do you know that marijuana is just about 50 times more harmful to the lungs than cigarettes? If you knew the dangers of either you would not even ask this question ! In Jamaica they die of lung cancer in their late forties because of smoking **** relentlessly. Not to say that genetically modified marijuana, makes you psychotic quite quickly, even before the onset of cancer !

1. Nobody has ever died from marijuana, but people die every day from smoking cigarettes.
2. Marijuana smokers keep their smoke to themselves and others who consent to be around them when they are smoking. But cigarette smokers seem to think they have some sort of "right" to smoke where other people are forced to smell their stink without consenting to it.
So yes, we should do everything we can to stamp out cigarette smoking, but leave the pot smokers alone.

I think the founding fathers would roll over in their graves to know that people are being persecuted to the point of prison for smoking an indigenous plant.
I think in a free society like we are supposed to have niether should be banned, however, they should be resticted to use by adults
