I know, stick a fork in Looney Tunes, it's done.

But why Tom & Jerry still? It's more racist, 'Mammy' was in every other episode before it was censored. It's also more 'violent'.

I've never seen Boomerang, and I'll probably start training children to say 'That's BS!!'. I have the DVD, I'm just wondering why it was suddenly taken off TV MORE than a couple years ago. It doesn't relate much to modern life (like Rocko) but it can be used as a history lesson, and is more Americana-y than just about any other cartoon I can think of. Kids are being deprived of an experience that truly enriched my understand of 'American Youth.'

My son is in GT in 4th grade. They received a school report card that gives percentages. It has TAKS test percentages among different races. It also has TAKS failers promoted by grade placement committee. It goes on to list the different races and percentages of those students that failed the test that were promoted The percentages were for reading White 86.8%, hispanic 92.9%, and 100% african american. That was reading TAKS test. And math isn't much different either. The african american was the same. These results were for 2005. My feelings are anger. Even though the white students scored higher than all other races by the percentages. This means that it didn't matter if an african american passed or failed the test they were going to be promoted. I am white by the way. But this is discrimination against whites if I have ever seen it!

I am basically asking this question over again, but I meant for the last similar question to this question, as well as this question, be put in "Society & Culture" , but NOT in the "Gay, lesbian, transgendered" category. BTW, I don't hold a personal grudge against anyone who is gay, lesbian, etc.

Long ago, women were repressed and had few rights. I really do sympathize with that and I'm glad it's changed for the women. Now, it has gone too much the other way. I agree that it's still not totally fair when it comes to equal pay (among other issues), but it has changed. Commonly, there are no occupations/hobbies that are just for men, but there are many jobs/hobbies/socials out there that only women have (for men to accept these jobs/hobbies/socials would create a stigma for them and some others would consider them "****"). These labels are usually made by closed-minded conservatives or macho men anyway, though macho men usually tend to think there are only things for them and they can do better than women. There are always exceptions to society's rules. I'm sure liberals and open-minded people are aware. Men know more things about women than some women think. It's learned from women's mags! More women today are in trades, hockey, saleswomen in too many men's stores, etc.

Did you know that Iranian pop music is chosen as the best pop music in Europe?(In France) Even one of the songs named "Imagine" won the world peace nobel prize in 2005.You ask me, the best pop melody can be found in the current Iranian pop music, the fast music with non-stop boom boom from the beginning to the end doesn't let the listener take a breath!, and all songs are very well built with the best and the most poetic lyrics possible. You know that Persian literature is famous , so naturally modern pop singers don't forget benefiting from that! I think it's so unfair that Iranian pop music is unkown just because it's Iranian! So, I've started to translate some really great songs and I send them to quite a lot of people from all around the world.Even one of them told me, she's gonna begin learning Persian just to understand the songs by herself! I remember when I first began to learn English, my goal was to understand American songs.Who knew that English would really become my course at university?!
Now, I was just asking to see if anybody is interested in a really different thing, just e-mail me and get your songs with translations. Here's a sample of the songs:

The figure in the photo which is in the album is soaking wet
I kissed your memory again, I've asked myself this unanswerable question thousands of times so far:
What makes the songs lifelike?
Its pulse is the throat of yesterday (It means my throat could produce a better voice in the past, so my songs were liflike)
I know that without you, my tomorrow will be the same grey color as yesterday's (grey color)
I'm thirsty like the sun and more landless than the wind, more immediate than the song, outspoken like a loud cry
I'm lonelier than silence, brighter than the star, I love more than ever, sing with me again
I open the eyelids of the window, there are murmers of the moon light in the lane
All the windows are silent, sounds like (everyone in) this deserted lane is asleep
I call out your name aloud noiselessly, my crying closes the window
Once again, the invisible hands of night closes the eyelids of my window

I realize this is three questions rolled into one but they all go together......As an edcuated black female in the USA many people are shocked that I do not speak "ghetto" (ebonics) and that I have class to change this I try to educate more black people on why they should speak properly and stop acting out so often and making fools out of themselves and this bothers me because many people say I sound/act/dress white giving the impression that only white people in the USA are educated and have class........what's your answer to this question?
