I remember visiting the UK 15 years ago and being quite relieved to see that the British people had not yet been infected with political correctness to the same degree that we in the US had. It was refreshing to see a people that were not afraid to speak about things in a fair and straight forward manner because they might "offend" someone.

I returned to the UK several months ago, and what I saw was very depressing. I saw a nation that was afraid to stand up for itself and was losing it's identity. I saw a nation that was living a lie but was afraid to admit it. What I saw was that the UK had become even MORE politically correct than the US and was paying dearly for it.

People throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and North America are begining to realize that diversity and multiculturalism are a fraud. As an American of English and Scottish descent, I urge you to wake up before it is too late.

What actually happened to people's "equal" perspective... I mean... some people take NOT being racist/feminist so far they end up going to the other end of the scale making everything just as unequal... like treating whom ever it may be as being all frail and as if they can't defend them selves and are treated like babies or something...

in my former profession... i used to be a driver,, i've seen a whole lot of things that should shock you. but... they wouldnt. the fact is, we've all seen and done stupid things while driving, but girls will stop at nothing to continue daily life in the car. putting on make up, talking on the phone, cutting across 3 lanes to exit.. to name a few.
whats so hard about putting driving first?

Does it mean:
1. You literally want the person represented by the effigy to burn in the same way.
2. You actually want the person dead but don't care how.
3. You don't actually want the person dead, but you seek some other form of legal retribution.
4. It's just an effective way of catching the attention of a mass of people/the media, but you don't necessarily believe the person's offence warrants anything quite as severe as burning at the stake.
5. Other.

Does the meaning vary between societies across the world?

Why cant they seel me a newspaper, wash my car,do SOMETHINGto show some initiative, instead of wasting all that energy in the hot sun begging. There are day labor places where you need not look good or clean, just show up early and theyll send you for a job for the day.

Has anyone here been homeless and begged like that or did you bust your butt to get what you needed with a little help but not 100% support?

I'm going to go with the teacher, the almost always make a lot less and have to put up with a lot more to make a connection and help people. While a nurse might see someone for only a few hours or days.

What are your thoughts?

Greetings, humans. Our designation is Zog-fat-pik%43. We have been observing your planet for many of your earth years. We have been unable to communicate with you until now. We have succeeded in gaining access to your primitive computer network and discovered this interface in which to communicate with you in context you are familar with. Our question: Why do you humans insist on separating yourselves. Why do you humans find new ways to destory each other? Why do you humans impede your own technological progress by subscribing to such arcane concepts such as economy and money? Do you humans not understand that you are limiting yourselves by attributing "costs" and "values"? Why can you humans not work together for the betterment of your species, and not for profit, but to further your kind? Did you know that your planet does contain resources for interstellar travel and you are only limiting yourselves with your backwards thinking?

There has been bullying in one form or the other from the beginning in shows like Big Brother, or Pop Idol, which deliberately play on peoples' differences for entertaiment. Not a murmur. Now an asian woman is being bullied by whites, there is uproar. I do feel sorry for Shilpa as she is so isolated, but i think it's wrong to have to wait until race is also an issue before intolerance and cruelty towards someone is seen as unacceptable and not just good TV.
