Look there is no real answer to this question. I f I told you that yes every person has a number and when it is time to croak then it is your time. This is all theory. I think people die because of how we do things. For instance you mentioned a family member fell from a cliff. Why was he there, was he curious to see down the side, was the ground loose or slippery when he looked over. I believe the dangers are already there. We just have to wake up and look around us before we leap or do something. I can run across the road tomorrow forget to look and get slammed by a car. But if I stopped and looked I would have survived. This goes for a lot of accidental deaths. We choose our own destiny and the last time I checked death is part of destiny. So look next time before you do anything.

Assuming that people are "chosen" for ill (or good) fate is the major problem with that thought. A risk is just that, it's an increase in the chance that something "bad" will occur. It's just like other probability driven actives like rolling dice, if you roll a die you have a better chance of getting a 6 than if you don't, but if does not mean you will get a 6 with a single roll. This is a small an limited situation, but in life there are many, many factors which go into something bad or good happening.

It is impossible to understand how God deals with individual people, because we will never know all of the relevant facts. The apostle Paul said that you will never be given more trouble than you are able to handle, however, so I suppose that some people are inherently stronger than others. It would seem that the purpose of trials and sorrows is to strengthen you as a person, and to make you more compassionate overall, not to punish you.

adrenaline can do wonders. but anyways in my family bad things happen in 3's. i think honestly if your meant to die you will. if your just not meant to die yet, then you will live through some death defying things. but it sucks cuz you just never know so i wouldn't test any theories.
