The question applied to a single individual seems meaningless. How can you have an impact ?
But from the moment you do stuff : volunteering, helping someone in school, listening, coaching youth, YOUR world, your community is a better place.
Just as the wolrd is a worst place from the moment you start doing evil things.
At your scale, everything you do has an impact. So your world becomes a better - or a worst - place from the moment you open your door and interact...

It would be easier to think that each of us is worthy of answering Yes to this question but I believe that it all depends on whether or not we have impacted the world in some form or fashion. Our mere presence is not enough. Life is too short, go out and make a difference in someone's life and truely be able to say that the world is a better place because of you.

I would like to think so. I help everyone in need that I come across, even if I'm barely making ends meet myself. I'm a mother of five children who are also very conscience of putting others before themselves and are very giving individuals. If my children can pass this on to their children and it continues....that means I've left the world a better place as my family will continue to lend a hand to those in need.

great question there! This is probably something we should ask ourselves more often. It is good to take a step back and evaluate what you are doing in you life. I want to say yes it is better - but I know it could be a lot better. I do believe everyone has their chance to have a say and make a difference. I hope to leave a positive mark while I am alive. :)

No, I don't think so. I am not that presumptous. But definitely for some people, their world became better because I am in it.

I don't think I have made an appreciable difference one way or the other. I am not Jimmy Stewart in a Frank Capra movie.

No. Nature abhors a vacuum (and so do my cats!) If I weren't here, someone else would be filling my void.
On a cosmic scale, I'm of no consequence.
Which is a relief because I'm lazy.
