Well its just to put a slight moisture onto the lenses so they will wipe clean... no big deal.....if they are your own specs! Watch out who has cleaned the wine glasses and what nasty cold bugs they have if they use this method to clean them!

I've heard that breathing on glass makes it shinier than ever if you have eaten a pig recently. That's why my dad eats a pig before going out window cleaning , in which he breathes pig all over the window. The customers pay big bucks for it but he wastes it on pig. FOOL!!!

I helps a little bit, but sometimes causes more streaks.
Saliva is the best way to clean glass, and CD's.

Your breath warms the lens, causing moisture in the air to condense on it. (It is not a good idea to wipe the lens when it is dry because you are more likely to scratch it.)
