I'm not sure how to describe it, maybe ebonics accent. Anyway, why do so many black people speak in a certain tone or way? You can usually tell a black person on the phone because of their voice. I understand when a certain group of people live in a certain area (New Yorkers), (beach), but blacks spread thoughout the country in all areas and still speak the same way. Where does it come from? Why do they speak that way?

It is sort of like gays. A lesser amount though, however many speak with a high pitch voice but why? I've seen blacks from the U.K. and they all have the English accent so it can't be anything biological. I already knew that. So where does culture come in? I don't speak using ebonics nor do I have the accent. Why would you chose to speak this way? Is it natural or forced?

i cannot get ANY kind of job, and i mean that. most people seem to think that it means i am not trying. they say, just get some shitty boring job. the point is that i can't even get those. i have tried. nobody wants me. the way i was brought up was to be polite, unassuming, gentle. even to answer a phone they want a **** who can yell really loudly about himself and has ambition. essentially, someone who i would probably hate. so the question is: should i keep trying? or just run away and hide? and why should i have to change, if indeed i can, or should? to be honest, this is becoming more of a rhetorical question.
what if you do not fit in with society, at all, through no fault of your own?

Doesn't that just exemplify what the rich care about, sports! Big money will always be given to have the best in sports but never enough to keep people out of poverty.
I don't hate sports, just noticing the imbalance here.
What are others thinking about this? Do we need to change our priorities?

why it easier for a woman to say they were assaulted than a man? Does dressing have a lot to do with rape? because i mean it you are walking around late night in a mini skirt what do you expect? why is it still considered rape if an 18-year old guy had consensual sex with a 17-year-old girl.

Usually, one's nose shuts down after a few minutes and you can endure it, if you are trapped.

But I remember once or twice when that didn't happen.

Were you ever stuck somewhere and you had to just deal with a horrible stench?

Do you agree with the statement that rape, etc. has nothing to do with sex and everything to do with violence?

Seems like a lot of people don't get it.

was just talking about this with my friend a couple days ago. it's dark-skinned light-skinned issue. if you really think about they both experience the same amount of prejudice. for example, light-skinned kids and dark-skinned kids are usually both not excepted to the black community because of their skin color and hair texture.
