No, but with hindsight I wonder if he dissed the romans carpentry skills.

"Have you seen the joint on this cross?! Using a butt joint reinforced with some manky old rope just won't do. Do you know who I am?"

"Shut up smart ar$e!!" *Jabs him in the ribs*

"This should have been made with a half lap tennon with reinforcing dowel pegs. I bet this shoddy thing won't even work properly. Just you watch and see. You've used cheap iron nails in my wrists and they'll rust. Do you know how much damage they'll do to the finish of the timber? Nails are for butchers, craftsmen use screws and drill pilot holes. Ah that reminds me, where's that sneaky little shite Pontious - I've got a bone to pick with him. Hey John can you put off that bloke with the fencing job? Tell him I can't do it 'till at least Monday"

What makes you think he would be any different from any other self employed Carpenter. I have been waiting weeks for mine to come back and finish my bathroom off.

I reckon he never used to declare them all to the Inland Revenue. Can you imagine the headlines, at least Doddy and Lester will be in good company.
