I have a friend and he says I'm shallow and materialistic because I buy quality things. He thinks there's no need to spend on quality clothes, makeup, purses, shoes, shampoo, etc. He says there's no reason I can't go to Wal-Mart for those things. I don't understand this at all. I say this because we went to the mall and I bought some stuff at Lancome and some undies at Victorias Secret. He was bitching the whole time that I spend too much and that I'm materialistic. What do you all think? Just looking for opinions on what you guys think.

What good is hate doing? Hating for ethnicity, religion, appearance, etc. Despite the fact that I am nice to everyone, there are those who are just downright hateful. It's just sad to see that people hate others for no reason. Sad how much evil there is going around. Anyone else tired of people who hate for no good reason?

am 17 years old, friendly and I smile a lot, and on random situations where there are a ton of people I can be a little bit shy. The only guys that ask me out are guys that come into my job and are older and creepy, or a group of guys that are jerks like saying "oh look at you hottie, you fine piece of ***" as they said a few days ago. It sickens me and makes me feel like crap. I was dressed in loose black slacks and a t-shirt. Nothing revealing at all. I almost feel like all guys are like that. I have had a few guys ask me out, but it just didn't work out. My guy friends and male co-workers tell me I am beautiful (but always end up going out w/ another gal), which I don't feel at all and I have a horrible self-image b/c of this, which I know I shouldn't let the way guys approach/don't approach me affect my self-esteem..but after a while it does, . I am a Christian and I plan on saving myself until marriage, which I know isn't too "cool" to most guys. What's wrong with me?!

I know this is kinda abstract and far fetched, can't happen this way but humor me for a minute. let's say you're head of security at an international airport. you have reason to believe that someone is going to commit a terrorist act on the next flight out, the flight that is now boarding....there are two people left to board the plane, let's say you are going on this flight too. there is only enough money in the budget to search one more passenger...there are two more passengers that haven't passed through the final checkpoint....one of those passengers is an elderly latin american woman, the other passenger is a 18-30 year old middle eastern man....is racial profiling acceptable now??? why or why not?? i'm not sure what my answer would be on this one.

I do.
The amount of evience the govt carried out the attacks are overwheming.
I will name a few out of dozens.

1. 7 hiajckers turned up alive.
2. 1200% Increase in put options linking to the CIA
3. Larry silverstein addmitted blowing up WTC..it is so osbvious the 9/11 Commision report wont even touch it.
4. Cell phones wont work above 30k feet.
5. Theremite was found at the scene, used to cut steel.
6. Buildings fell at the speed of gravity, Science says controlled domolition.
7. Debris from the building was taken and illegally sold to china before anybody could really investigate.
8.How can a plane make a 270 degree turn and drop 7000 feet in attitude in less then 2 minutes, and leave a 16' hole at the pentagon?
9. The "hijackers" said the wrong islamic message when approaching death
10. Bin Laden was Writting with his Right hand on video.

From my understanding of the new legalization of tattooing, anyone who is found in possesion of tattoo equipment without a license will be fined, just for possesion. is this true and does the license from the health dept. really cost upwards of $1000?????????????

A friend of mine met a man from Michigan about 5 months ago (we're from California)...they "fell in love" and since then...he's come out to Cali. once (2 months into the relationship) and now, in October he'll be moving out to Cali to live with her...(he has sent her $..bought her gifts etc..and seems like a genuinely nice guy) should she be worried?

USA is a melting pot, you criticize us and you're criticizing the world. our govt, that's a different story, but USA is definately a melting pot where you'll see a heck of alot of different things, unlike some countries where you are seeing one or a few cultures and aren't allowed to voice your opinion. The only problem with this melting pot I think is a lack of want to unite, we all kind of have this laisse faire attitude just to leave it up to our govt. to @*#$ up, as long as we get our money and our other luxuries we dont care whats happening.

Many say natural black hair is difficult to manage. Why not get cute afro puffs? Why not use bigger combs, even comb the hair when wet so it's easier to comb, and style it up in cute feminine ways in it's unstraightened state?

Why is womens natural black hair not considered to be as beautiful as straight hair?
