I don't know how to get rid of them. They are getting way to much power. I don't believe for one minute they don't have a political agenda. I doubt there is a republican in the bunch.
They fight for the right of everything I am against. It was the ACLU that wanted to do away with the wire tapping. Excuse me I thought it was just fine. If it helps to fight the terrorists and keeps my family a little safer than go for it. I'm not paranoid. Now they are all over the illegal aliens. Hell they are in NY they don't have to worry about getting shot, raped. murdered by them. !!!!!
The terrorists and illegals have more power through them than we do!
I love the minute men! Let's head for the border and join up!

The social war currently is gaining ground against the ACLU (American Chicken Little Union). The problem is being politically correct has the backing of liberals, the left winged media, the homosexuals (not gay), the athiests (intollerant of anything good), and those who are too ignorant to see the domestic enemies of this country. The ACLU is an activist's group, which fights for the rights of those who feel they need representation. It is done legally and is not biased. The premise is that EVERYONE's rights must be protected, in order for the individuals rights to stand.

If you weren't asking this question, you would probably be asking why the government could burn people at the stake for being witches or just for voting against them.
You should know that if you have any rights at all in this country it will be the lawyers who protect them, not the bankers or the businessmen.

Your premise is flawed.
It's the courts that decide what is or is not protected, or valid, or legal. All the ACLU does is provide legal services to those who feel their rights are being infringed. And they do so regardless of what side of the political spectrum their clients are on.
But the ACLU doesn't make any rulings. It just presents the case, and the courts decide what the rules are. And that's the way the law is supposed to work. Everyone gets their day in court.

Unfortunately, with all of the liberal judges who don't seem to give a damn about the law of the land, we unfortunately have to live with it. I swear, I wish we could get rid of the ACLU.
