Qualified white males who had nothing to do with what happened the last generation or generations before are being told to put their lives on hold and let "others" thrive. Is this simply revenge? Why should people today suffer for crimes committed centuries ago? Should it be called Affirmative Racism?

I am not advocating forcing young girls into marriage with men..my question is strictly concerned with whether or not a person would actually want more than wife, or whether a woman would want to be one of many wives to a man...

I am black and white. My father is white and my mother is light skinned. I look white. A large % people can't tell I'm part black at all. My father is a very successful businessman who beat my Mom and left when I was a child. I was raised by my Mom only so although I look white, culturally I am very black in a lot of ways. I have found it very hard getting ahead in the business world despite my father is on the board of directors at the largest corporation in the world. I have been told that I lack professionalism but I am very confused and personally I feel that the fact that I look caucasian but was raised by a black woman very much plays into how people judge me for work and otherwise. What do you guys think?

My friend has s situation she needs your answers. This guy has been calling her for a long time and she can't seem to get rid of him. One day he called and in frustration she mentioned he was not a thoughtful person (trying to discourage him from calling). She also mentioned she was out of groceries (meaning she would be getting groceries in a few days). He arrived one evening unannounced with $60 worth of groceries. She hesitated to let him in, but finally did. She hesitated about putting the groceries in the kitchen, letting them sit there for an hour before doing so. They talked for a while then he left. Days later he called again and immediately accused her of using him, taking his groceries and said now she "owes" him. .......The question is: Since she didn't ask for any groceries, is this a gift or should she repay him? She could not return them to him (he lives an hour away) and she didn't want to invite him over to pick them up. What should she do?

I heard this somewhere that a lot of them were because they were at sea for long periods of time, and it seems to make sense to me. Is there any evidence backing up this theory?
