I beleive that if someone wants to have sex they should be ready to accept the repercusions of those actions, whether they be 16 or 60. Sex is just that, sex. It can happen at any age and it is going to. I also know that the age of consent in some states is 16, so in a way it is legal in those states.

Technically, the age has already dropped from 18 to 16, but if you have sex with a 16 year old and the parents don't like you, you will be charged with rape and you will get a csc on your record. Not a good thing.
CSC= Criminal Sexual Conduct
Then you will get a degree (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) and could go to jail or prison because of your hormones.
LOL
Oh yeah, if the person you have sex with wants it and the parents still press charges you are still screwed.

Well you would have to drop the legal age of a adult as a whole to 16 from 18. Meaning then 16 years old can go to war, work fulltime jobs, live on their own, own a handgun, become a stripper, Ect. Even though most 16 year olds think they know everything, most dont know sh*t! It would be a disaster.

I'd say no because kids aren't mature enough to handle it until they're 17 or 18, but laws won't stop them from doing it at a young age. I knew a girl in highschool who first had sex at 15. I can't imagine it being all that great when you're so young. I mean women and men don't usually develop (into worthy specimens) until they hit 17 or 18.

Teenagers are going to do whatever they want to or can get away with. If you look at statistics, how many kids actually WAIT until they're 18, or even 16 to have sex for the first time? Not very many.

Tough question. There are several countries that believe marriage for girls is ok for 12 yos.
1 State only allows marriage to a 16yo...Virginia.
On a moral basis...no....on a practicality reason...sure.

It's hypocritical to think a 16yo is old enough to decide the life or death of a baby.....yet not to decide to have a relationship.

The laws were all made for moral reasons..that's all.

because i'm 16 and am attracted to older men i'd say yeah but i know that alot of girls my age aren't mature enough and its a safe to assume that once reaching the age of 18 most girls would take on responsibility and good judgement since they start driving and going to college and having jobs and their own places

Being illegal or not isn't going to stop kids from doing it. They would only care if they're caught, and I don't think most parents call the police on having sex with minors.

NO because 16 is still a child and sex is such a grown up thing.
