I like pennies! Without them, kids' piggy banks would be so much emptier. We give pennies to our daughter who saves them. When her bank is filled, we roll them, take them to the bank and she adds them to her savings account. In this way, she's been able to start saving money along w/whatever she may receive for her birthday or Christmas. Pennies still have their uses.

1. I think we need pennies, because if there weren't any pennies then it wouldn't mean a farthing anymore.
2. But should we decide to keep pennies, then they will be, and no one will go penniless. No matter how bad things may get, at least they'll have a penny.
3. If a penny did not exist, what would we put in those little glass bottles — a dime? a feather? That's right, it requires some deep reflection to make the right decision.
4. Without pennies, you would no longer be able to drop them in those slotted machines that stamp your penny into a souvenir. Wouldn't that be a loss for some?
5. What would Henny Penny say?

I was thinking of this for awhile I think we should keep them..If we got rid of them and you buy say a CD now they will have to round out the taxes so it dosen't enclude pennies in the change. That means the taxes will change also..39cent stamp will be 40 and so on and so on. KEEP THE PENNY

Do you really think anything will be rounded down to the nearest $.05? If there are no pennies, then good bye $.01, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 anything.
If you hate pennies save them and give them to the bank, they're still money. If you really hate them refuse to accept them when you get change.
If you hate pennies and love people, give them to the bums that no one pays any attention to any more that are starving in your country.

Try this: Every time a clerk owes you change that includes four cents, or less, tell her to put it in the penny well. I want the pennies. Five of them babies make a nickle.

i love pennies. those are the currencies that you use to get your little brothers or sisters to clean your room, or wash your car. plus, abe lincoln's face is on all of them. we cant just wipe him out. he use everything he's got to become a president. Just like how we use every penny we got to get something we want really bad.

We should eliminate them. I was stationed in Japan at a military base. We did not use pennies. It was so much simple and there was not need to carry so much change.

I don't think we should eliminate them, just pause in their production. I think we have enough pennies in circulation to get us through a couple years. {as long as people don't throw them in the garbage, or down drains, etc.}
I'm assuming you mean US pennies.

We don't need any coins. If the government would go to a flat tax we could do away with all coins. Every thing would be so many items for a dollar or so many dollar for a items. Now the only way to get a % tax is with coins.
