A story my mom told me about. The basic plot:
A flock of doves take shelter in a barn, and they know that they will freeze from the cold. A flock of sparrows flies into the barn half dead from the chill. The sparrows ask the doves if they would take them under their wings so they can warm up. Most of the doves refuse, but six of the doves welcome them under their wings. The night passes, and early in the morning the farmer comes to the barn to retrieve some firewood. When he opens the door a dove falls from above, frozen to death. The farmer looks up to see the flock, only a small handful still clinging to life. the farmer climbs up and takes the doves that had survived into his home to warm them by the fire. As the doves warm up they lift their wings and the sparrows fly out; only the doves who had helped the sparrows had survived.
I wanted the to know the original story in the author’s words. If anyone can help me out, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you sooooooo much!
