i need to write a introduction for a essay. the essay is about the 4 interpritations of myth.(religious, social,humanistic,psychological)
can you help me out?

Write: "There are religious, social, humanistic and psychological interpretations of myth." Follow with sentences that briefly describe what you are going to explain in the essay.
Then clarify each in the body, (define each interpretation in a paragragh, all 4)Concluding paragraph sums up what you've told using the first paragraph as the suject (sort of rewrite it with facts clarified in the body of essay)

When writing a report or essay, keep these tips in mind:

Tell them what you're going to tell them. Tell them. Then tell them what you told them.

In other words, in the intro, give a brief summary of what you're going to be talking about. In the body, go into depth about what you mentioned in the intro. Then in the closing, recap what you told them, and bring it to a close. Yes, it seems redundant, but people are more likely to read an essay if the introduction sounds interesting, and they're more likely to quote the essay/report if the closing covers everything mentioned in an easy-to-remember (short and sweet can't be beat!) format.

Oh, and one other thing, unless you are told to write your essay in first person, always use third person. (in other words, don't use I, me, you, we)
