Okay.. so I am going to go on a trip for 6 months to The Netherlands. I am very interested in the Dutch language. I want to learn it before I go there, because I want to be able to understand what the natives are saying to me, and I want to be able to communicate back to them. Does anyone know how I can learn Dutch? Like, an online site or program that can teach me? I really need to know. I am leaving in 2 months, so I really want to get a head start with it, so I can learn more. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Serious answers only, please!

My mom came from Glaswgow (Bellshill) and moved to America, some expressions she would say were?

ach aye the noo (not really sure what that meant, but I think it meant "yes")
and I remember she would say for example "go co cannie on the bread" which we took as "dont eat so much of it since not much is left"
Is that the best definition for go co cannie?

I am genuinely interested in knowing as to why " american " people pronounce words such as , water, ( they say Warder ) or, united ( they say, unided ) or investigated ( investigaded) or party, ( they say pardy )
and there are a few more, but why ??

(The context is: I apply for visa in Malaysian Embassy in my country this morning. But my application papers are not complete. The officers at the embassy ordered me give him my visa reference number that I can ask from the organizing committee in Malaysia, but he said I can leave my application there, so I will just have to complete the papers later with reference number).

Here is the sentence that I'm asking about:
