I'm from a town called Douglas, from the Irish "Dubh Glás" meaning "Black Stream" I was wondering what the Italian translation of "Black Stream" is.
No Babelfish answers please because anyone can find "Neroflumme" which i'd imagine is wrong. Native Italian speakers please, thanks!

If a person says, "I went to college with him".. Does that mean that they were enrolled in the same college but they took different courses and they were never even classmates? OR Does the phrase mean that they were in the same college, enrolled in the same course, and took the same subjects?

the name Kouao appears in a script we have been given to make a short video and we think it is polite to pronounce names correctly but we do not know anyone who speaks whatever language the name comes from. The script writer is abroad and unavailable. . Please help.
If you can pronounce it and maybe record yourself pronouncing it, you could send the recording to me Instantmoyo@yahoo.co.uk. Thanks.
Or you could have a go at describing the pronunciation.

I am from Brazil, I came to Miami in 1994 and learned english. Why now, at work and everywhere I go I have to speak spanish? I am really tired of it!!! If you want to live in a country, the least you can do is learn the country's language, not doing so is a profound disrespect to the country and a clear message that you are not capable of learning. It hurts businesses that hire people who do not speak english (for a reason I don't know), and it limits the spanish only speaking person that will never get anywhere without english. I have called a hotel once to book a room, and the person who answered the phone not only answered with a "alo" in spanish when she should have said the name of the hotel, but when I spoke in english she said in spanish "I don't speak english" and hung up the phone!!! This is insane. Let's not forget the restaurants that get the orders wrong etc.. We who have learned english as a 2nd language should not have to not speak it because others are lazy to learn!!!

In Spanish, how do you know which letters to put the accents above? I have a Spanish quiz tomorrow and our teacher says the accents have to be placed correctly but I don't know where to put them!

I work for a hotel and the hotel has many foreign customers. Could you please correct these sentences?

"Would you like a beer or oolong tea(Chinese tea) as a welcome drink?" (I have to ask and give one drink from their choice when customers check in)

"Are you checking out sir?"
"One moment please."
"You don't have any extra room chage(such as international calling or laundry service) sir"
"Have a good day sir"

I can't find my spanish english dictionary, and I'm doing spanish homework.
I used an online translator but I'm not sure if it's completely accurate because they usually aren't.
Can you please translate the following sentences into Spanish?

For spring break, I am going to multiple European nations. I would really like to be able to speak conversationally with the local people beyond the stereotypical "where is the bathroom?" and "How much does this cost?".

The languages that I wish to learn are French, Italian, and German. Is is possible to become decently proficient in these languages in six months? And, if so... are there any websites, activities, books, or tips that you can reccomend?

Thank you in advance!
