the name Kouao appears in a script we have been given to make a short video and we think it is polite to pronounce names correctly but we do not know anyone who speaks whatever language the name comes from. The script writer is abroad and unavailable. . Please help.

My dog has this name and Barry K is almost correct.
It is pronounced: Koo Way Ooh

It's quiet a hard name to pronounce. I'm not really sure on how to ptonounce it actually. You'd have to know which country the name came from to make it easier to describe how to pronounce the name.

I agree with Lou C's description of the pronunciation (except that I would spell it more simply as "Kwow"; however, I think it looks like an African name - possibly from Ivory Coast, Senegal or some other French-speaking country.

It is really difficult to even guess a pronounciation without knowing what language it is. It looks to be maybe a polynesian name.
In that event it would be
Co - like in co operation
oo - like in you without the y
ow - like in Ow that hurts!
you would break each syllable as you speak it (co-oo-ow) with no specific emphasis on any and say it fast :)
