I am so sick of the debate over learning a 2'nd language.We shouldn't do it.No one learned MY language to accomodate ME. all immigrants should be expected to learn English just like the rest of us who came here and have foreign. descent.Some of us still speak 2 languages but we don't force the government to make laws that demand other ethnic groups to learn our countrys language.I think it's really great to know different languages,until they are forced on us.It is unconstitutional and against MY RIGHTS to force me to learn Spanish if I don't want to.nd it is also unconstitional to MY RIGHTS to be forced to hear it spoken in public if I don't want to hear it .....".What Say You?"

I can think of a few in Welsh:-
"Mynd dros ben llestri"...lit "Go over the crockery".. means "Go over the top."
"Paid â chwerthin ar fy mhen i".. lit " Don't laugh on my head."
means.."Don't laugh at me."
"Paid â gwneud hwyl ar fy mhen.." lit.."Don't make a sail on my head".. means "Don't make fun of me."
"Mae'n codi pwys arna'i"..lit "It's lifting a pound on me".. means.."It makes me sick."

We watched Garfield and Spanish and have to write a short description in spanish to translate it. Any help is appreciated. Please no computer translations!

“Garfield is a fat and lazy cat who hates Mondays and eats a lot. One day, his owner Jon takes him to the vet. There, they meet a dog, Odie, and they take him home. For a Japanese scholarship application (written in English) I thought of importing the "Dear Sir or Madame" part in Japanese as well.
If there is something else appropriate to write at the beginning of an official Japanese letter, pls feel free to share.

I would appreciate, if you could include the asked phrase in kanji (Japanese sign language) as well.

Last Tuesday, I watched the play, "Making Sound." The play was very interesting and the sounds the actors created were unbelievable. The actors were great. They expressed feeling without using words. If i had another chance i would definetly watch this play again.

I am 15 male, in new zealand and are somewhat fasicinated by Japan. I respect their culture and basically just how they go about their everyday lives. last year i was not "smart" enough to take the course, therefore i cannot do it this year or the year after and go to japan with my schools exchange next year. I would love to learn japanese. How would i do this? could i teach my self some basics from the internet or some software? or would i have to go to a tutor? can they teach you from scratch? i only speak english. I also know of exchange programmes i will go on once i have learnt some japanese
