In everyday speaking? I know there are languages that use words in place of our he/she/her/him that simply refer to an unidentified individual of any gender like "one" but more commonly used.

This is what I'm trying to say in Spanish:
"Once there was a planet named Pluto. It was a planet very very cold and distant. Now, astronomers believe that Pluto is a dwarf planet. Little Pluto has been demoted. Remember when Pluto was a planet? Those were the days."

What I have so far (I need help translating the stuff in brackets):
[Once there was] una planeta se llama Pluto. Lo fue una planeta muy muy frio y lejano. Ahora, los astrónomos creen que Pluto sea un [dwarf planet]. Pluto poco [has been demoted]. ?[Remember] cuando Pluto fue una planeta? [Those] fueron las dias.
