With all the immigrants coming in, there is alot of fuss over language. Should they learn english and we learn spanish, together? Or should they just learn english?
I'm learning spanish, myself.

I'm interested in whether the translation of this into Latin employs a subjunctive.
I'd also be interested in its translation into Greek and other languages.

I'd also be interested in people's views on whether this sentence actually says something true.

Again, consider the sentence "the star which is now visible at night might not have been the star which is now visible at night".
Does this strke you as true/false/ungrammatical?

What about its translations into other languages?

Was wondering if someone might give an opinion as to how long it might take an American to learn Chinese.. Well enough to translate and typeset simple business cards.
The person is fairly talented with languages, but knows only latin derived languages.
thanks!

I would like to learn about strange expressions idioms, slang used in your area of the world.
For example
I'm from western Canada, where kilometers are called clicks, a small depression in the prairie is called a coulee, winter weather is broken up by a Chinook, and when I go out on the highway I "give 'er"
