The Spanish word for Moors is Moros and they all came from Arab countries. The Moors dominated Spain, Italy, France for over 500 years. They were Muslims and they fought and won the war against the Christians in those days. They were called Moros by the Spanish because they were dark skin. It had nothing to do with them being Muslims, Muslims were their religion.

Los Moros or los Sarracenos if you mean the people.
Los páramos, las turberas, los brezales or los marjales if you mean the kind of moors one reads about in "Wuthering Heights".

Yep, is 'moros' is the informal way of say musulmanes (muslims)... Some people think that it's said in a despective way, but in fact we don't say it in that way, because call them 'arabe' (arabic) imply one concrete race (not all muslims are arabics) and call them 'musulman' imply that they're Islamics...
You may see that word in our traditional celebration of 'Moros y Cristianos' (Moors and Christians) where we stage the re-conquest of Spain from moors...
