how did the whole idea of the easter bunny come about, its perplexed me for a while.

i mean really, easter is supposed to be the day jesus rose from the grave. so why does the holiday involve a bunny that runs around hiding eggs for little children to find. whats the thinking behind an idea like that? rabbits dont even lay eggs...

and for that matter, is the easter bunny supposed to be male or female...

Has anybody got burned on this before? My story is we all had a secret santa agreement at work, and it was agreed that the gift limit was not to fall below $25.00. Well I got MY secret santa a decent gift which is a Victoria's Secret perfume worth within range and she loved it. The person that had me, decided to give me a stuffed cat. Yes, a stuffed cat the ones that you could win in a Carnival. I was so disappointed and had thoughts like wtf? This person didn't even put a lot of effort in it. To be honest with you, I think it was something that sat in her basement collecting dust. And on an added note I am not a cat lover, nor a pet afficionado. What the heck????????????????

It's really been three years since I've had a gift for Christmas. I'm 16. My Parents sent me to rome last year to make up for chrismtas, but that was in march. Am I being greedy? Last year I got the Jackass2 movie a few days before, but nothing really under the tree. My family is on the verdge of divorce, my father drinks, my mom lacks a companion, and the one person i truly love no matter what he did, is mad because he is in a financial situation where he can't afford gifts. Is it worng for me to just want christmas for what it is? Is it wrong for me to want a present? I feel like everyone has perfect lifes they are living, then theres us. I make up 'gifts'. My mom will start a month before saying "this is for under the tree" when sh ebuys me something i need like nice undies..Is there something wrong with this picture? Why does it make me cry?

not for me. it hasnt been happy at all. i have been so stressed out that i cant even make time for myself or family. i hate school. i have to do a term paper and 3 other projects (difficult projects) over a one week break. what part of "BREAK" dont these teachers understand?! anywayss sry hows it been for you?

I wanted a photo blanket for my mom for christmas with me and my 2 younger siblings (age 5 and 2). I checked on teh walmart website and it said if u order them before dec 14th they'll be in for Xmas! i ordered mine on the 2nd and was assured that it would be in within 2 weeks MAX! i called today and was told that there is no way of checking on my blanket, no way of knowing if it even got sent or if the order is lost, and that it probably wont be here for christmas! so this beautiful gift idea i've had since summer when i got the photos taken is completely shot, as is my christmas spirit. and i go home in 3 days which is a 5 hour drive and im pretty sure im going home short $170 and with no gifts for my mom! :(

Anyone else have terrible walmart experiences?

Lots of people only care about getting the hottest new gadget or they're rushing around finding that expensive gift for so-and-so, for example. What about the real meaning..like spending time with family, friends and even the religious meanings?
