I simply don't celebrate the day and want to tactfully keep people from climbing up my stairs to ring my doorbell. Thinking about draping a rope to block entrance up stairs. Is this tacky? In the past, when we turn off lights people still ring our doorbell.

Is Halloween more popular in US than Carnival?

in Malta we ve only started to celebrate a bit in Haloween in the past few years and no one trick or treats - except for the few kids in my neighbourhood who are english.

In Carnival there is a 3 day holiday were all the kids and adults dress up, go to parties and villages make huge festivities with paper floats and dances.
Its gr8 fun

I have a short black wrap dress, black mary janes, and red leggings I want to wear for a costume. What could I call myself? It is a really cute outfit. I have to dress up for work (waitress) so I can't add anything difficult or clumsy to it.

Some conditions for it though. I'm a student at Virginia Tech and I'm on the crew team. I will be wearing this while rowing the boat, so it cannot inhibit my rowing ability. I don't really have a way to purchase much, so I need ideas that are inexpensive or do not require too many materials (flexible). This is an annual tradition on the crew team, I'd like to win it if I can. Thanks in advance, and GO HOKIES!

Most women I see at Halloween parties dress up like sexy cats, sexy witches, sexy anything - wearing fish-net stocking etc. Is it their secret fantasy to be slutty and seductive?

My son wants to be a ref with a hockey puck coming out of his forehead. Any ideas as to how to get the puck to stick? I'm using a 1/2 of a round styrofoam but can't figure out how to make it stick to his head.

I was speaking to my collegaues at work today and since today is halloween some thought that it should be banned. I feel that is much enjoyment for the kids. They get to be dressed up in costume and have alot of fun. My collegaues thought differently.

What is your outlook on it? Do you think it is a waste of time or a time to have fun and trick or treat?

Do you still have it? When I lived in NJ for 24 years before I moved, toilet paper teepeed houses and trees and shrubs. Silly string was everywhere. Some places was egged. When I moved to Ohio, no Mischief Night. What are you Mischief Night memories too? (I believe this fits into the Halloween category, don't you think?)

Every year I find that there are less and less trick-or-treaters. I'm wondering if this is the case for any other people/areas?
