It seems in the last few years that Easter is becoming more commercial - I don't remember anyone giving or receiving Easter presents (other than eggs) even 2 years ago. Do you believe this is a good thing - or is it just inevitable?

While decorating the house for Easter, my 4 yr. old son asked me why the bunny brings eggs if he is a bunny - any clue why we celebrate the holiday this way or how this tradition was started? I hate to be stumped by a 4 yr. old! Thank you!

when I was younger good friday was a solem day
we had to be home for 3pm, no playing outside, mum didnt do any washing
had fish for tea
we always had a hot cross bun
it wasnt that long ago Im only 42 now
Anyone else have the same exerience or has it always been a normal day ?
we were not church goers but just respected that day
