Get some round or star stickers at the craft or office supply store. Stick them on the eggs, making sure the edges are firmly attached. Dip dye the first color, say a light blue. Let dry. Remove the stickers, and re dip in another color...say yellow. The egg will change to green with yellow dots or stars.

tissue paper is a great way.. you need Art Spectra Tissue. gift tissue does not bleed color. Get the egg wet and put tissue on it. Use a paint brush to get the tissue flat. Let dry for about 30 minutes and remove tissue. I did this with my kindergarten class and they loved it.
Happy Easter!

If you want some "earthy" colors, you can boil your eggs with a handful of onion peels. This will give you a nice brown color. Last year we places flowers on the egg, wrapped a wet onion skin around it and tied it. After boiling, we removed the skin and had cool plant images on the eggs. You can also try boiling them with turmeric to get a maize color. Soak them in pureed blackberries to get blue.

You can do tissue paper..
get the really darkly dyed kind and cut it up and get it moist..wrap it around the eggs..(you can mix colors if you want) and then spray it with some water..wait for it to dry and take tissue paper off
glittering eggs is fun..i usually take water/glue mixture and brush it on my eggs..sprinkle microglitter over the egg

Check out marthastewart.com to marbleize eggs. I printed out the instructions and plan to do it this weekend with my 5 year old. Seems better than the plain old dye kits out there.
