Well, Jesus went into town to celebrate the passover (last supper) which happened to be a Thursday. crucified on Friday and rose on Sunday.
however, Easter has been striped of it's passover connection and is now set as the first Sunday on or after the equinox, after the first full moon. Gotta love those Catholics.
