My grandbaby can't resist anything, good or bad. I am trying to find a way to block off, fence off or whatever to still have my Christmas tree with all my beautiful ornaments but make sure my grandbaby is safe.

For nearly 20 years, we have had a little electronic box ("Mr. Christmas Carolites") that plays various Christmas carols. It has an electrical outlet on it to which you can connect a few strings of Christmas lights, which then flash and fade in and out in rhythm with the music the box is playing. It has always been a part of our Christmas tree, and has always worked quite well.

This year, we are changing over to LED lights on our Christmas tree. On one hand, we don't want to give up the music box that has made our tree a conversation starter for so many years, but on the other hand, we don't want to risk possibly damaging the new LED lights by subjecting them to the repeated rhythmic flashing and brightening/dimming the music box creates.

So, I thought I would ask those who have more experience with LED Christmas lights...would they be damaged or otherwise adversely affected by connecting them to this music box, causing them to brighten and dim and flash hundreds of times per hour?

I see so many children with a "gimme" attitude and "is that all?" I LOVE kids, don't get me wrong .. it just seems that no one is grateful for what they get anymore ... including adults.

I have an awesome AP History teacher. He has helped me a lot. I would like to get him something for Christmas, but I don't know what to get him. Do you have any suggestions? I want this to be unique and special for him, to show how much I appreciate his help.

Thank you for your time/suggestions.

My mom has waaay too much crap. She is not as bad as the Clean House or Oprah hoarders but only because her house is smaller and she has this delusion that if things are stacked neatly (even if the stacks are, literally, to the ceiling, things aren't too bad). But she does have the same mindset- that some day she will need 20 year old receipts and 20 year old shoes stuffed in the bottom of the closet. She will fight tooth and nail if you want to get rid of anything- even broken stuff!

The other major contributor to the problem, like the Oprah hoarder, is that she shops for CRAP every single day. She does not let one day go by without going, at least, dollar store "shopping". YET, she still expects presenetS.

What do I get her crazy butt? And, no, she will not abide maid service or an organizer person or anything else that requires someone to come into her house. Help.

Its strange, because when I was a kid & someone asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I could give a WHOLE list full of rambling with no shame ;)
but now, when people asked, "What kind of things do you want for Christmas?"
(because they say they want some ideal of what to get me)
I automatically feel pressured. I rather buy my loved ones, presents. I don't mind getting presents, but I just have that "awkward" feeling when someone asks me.

My boyfriend keeps telling me that it's in the bible that it's a heathenist act to decorate a christmas tree, in your house, in gold and silver.

I've browsed through the bible and I searched on the internet, and I can't find nothing even close to that.

Does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks!
