People just seem to have the Christmas Spirit at Christmas time. How do you keep the Christmas spirit all year round?

At my house we have a blow-up snowman and tons of lights. My stepmom is also obsessed with little holiday toys that sing, so our living room is filled. My aunt and uncle have like 10 blow-ups and tons and tons of lights. They have blinkers set to music! It is cool, but can people over-do it. Have you ever seen a house Over-decorated? Is there such thing as too many decorations?

Hi, I'm a college student and i have a work-study (part time job) at the campus library. I was wondering if i should bring in something small for my bosses (my boss, another woman who works with her, and two librarins)? I was thinking of making candy wreathes ( pepermint candies tied all around a coat hanger ring, great for seating on their desks) Is it approiate to give them these, or will i look stupid or like im trying to kiss up.

Hey!
It's nearing christmas and I have been in hospital for an operation and I came out a few days ago. But I'm really worried about christmas shopping as I won't be in town anytime soon! So, have you got any good xmas sites that are quite cheap and have great gifts!
Oh, and one of my friends particulally likes the mighty boosh, so if you have any help on that area aswell!
Thanks so much

Has Christmas gone too commercialised in your opinion, such as selling products which are normally at an all-time low the rest of the year but suddenly come at a premium around Christmas time? I think the true meaning of Christmas was lost a long time ago and personally think it's just an excuse for companies to make more money - but am I being too synical about all of it?!

My mom and I get along very well, but we don't really have much in common. So I'm usually clueless about what to get her as gifts.

Since it's just me and her, we usually go all out on each other. For her real gifts, I've so far got her a leather jacket, a few nice blouses, a pair of dress shoes and a ring. For her stocking I usually get her stuff like make-up, perfume, lotion, nail polish...but that only goes so far! It's hard to fill up her stocking. So, any ideas? Please don't say a gift card or anything like that. Thanks for your help and happy holidays!

I think the Christmas gift giving thing has gone out of control. Family peer pressure has forced my wife and I to buy over a thousand dollars of gift for almost 30 different relatives. We are forced to go via peer and family pressures to three different family celebrations. One on Christmas eve, one one Christmas morning and one in the evening.

Everyone has to outdue each other and buy the adults very expensive goods. One time a few of my brothers decided to cut back and they were told off and quickly had to go back to the big spending of years past.

This year I told my relatives that I would not give any gifts or expect to recieve any also. I am getting alot of negative comments directed at me. Some relatives will not even talk to me now. I may not be able to accept the negative peer and family pressures next year.

How about you, could you stop giving and recieving gifts at Christmas?

I was on low-budget and couldn't afford much. But I really looked forward to going to Burger King and for 2 bucks, getting a vanilla shake....that was a big deal for me! It is amazing how satisified that $2 milk shake made me feel...do you enjoy simple things like that?
