Something from the heart is always best. It says I love you, not just 'Look how much I spent" Bake some cakes or cookies. Everyone loves cookies especially the ones with love in them.

Gifts from a jar would be great for kids. Here is a listing of some on the net. Kids will love this because I don't know what kid doesn't like to get into the kitchen and cook. Most of the work will be done for them too.

Make Christmas ornaments for their trees. There are lots of cute patterns out there.

If I belonged to your family I would love to have a card or a letter saying that you would;
1)Come to cook a Sunday dinner for me/us in the new year.
2) Offer yourself to sew new curtains for my living room.
3) Take me out for a picnic somewhere outdoors.
4) Bake cakes for a special day, for instance my birthday.
Just a few suggestions. You can find similar one's that applies to your family.
Happy Christmas!

How about some homemade fudge? Good luck, I know all about having a lean Christmas budget but just remember, it is just one day out of the year, and also, the materialistic side of the holiday is played up TOO much. It's like Santa vs. Christ. and Christ doesn't have as many television ads to help him come out on top unfortunately!
