Mine was my first child. A precious baby girl named Morey Alexis Noelle Springuel, that was born on December 22nd, 2007. She is sleeping next to me right now, and she looks like a little angel. She is so perfect, and I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas. So my question is, what was your best Christmas present this year. It doesn't have to be a material thing, like a movie or book. It can be anything, like a hug or a kind word.

I've come to the conclusion that the hassle of Xmas is not worth it. I'm only going to concentrate on doing things for the children in our extended family and ditch the traditional B.S. stuff. No more travelling, trees, etc...........It causes too much stress for everyone, even throws the kids schedule off making them very miserable. I don't know who benefits from any of this, as the tradition is a MAJOR CHORE for everyone now....and is looked forward to with dread. Are you with me?

Why don't you choose your own day? And stop being a follower.

This year, my husband and I only bought gifts for our immediate family. But, when we spent Christmas day with all of his extended family, we received gifts from them. (We had nothing to give in return, and I have to say, I felt rather jerk-ish!) Should we put some gifts in the mail and call it "Merry New Year" or just let it go? The reason we did not buy for EVERYONE is because we both felt the gift thing can get really out of control, and sort of didn't want to deal with it this year. Plus, we recently put out a large sum of money on some purchases for our home. So, I need some opinions. And please, no lectures about the choices we made, just thoughts about what we could/should do now. ;-)

It is awesomely perfect in every way! I'd love to know who originally wrote it.

Link to my blog of it here: http://naivemelody.blogsome.com/2007/12/26/fw-a-letter-from-jesus-christ-concerning-his-birthday-celebration/

It starts like this:

Dear children,

It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season. Maybe you’ve forgotten that I wasn’t actually born during this time of the year and that it was some of you’re predecessors who decided to celebrate My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan festival. Although, I do appreciate being remembered - anytime.

How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don’t care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth just, GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Now, having said that let Me go on.

I know that Hajj is compulsory on everyone (except those who cannot afford it.) I was wondering, I know some people who didn't do their Hajj until they cleared all their loans and debts first, because they wanted to go with "halal" money. If someone goes to Hajj even with those debts, will their Hajj still be accepted?

Also, do you have to do Hajj with your own money? Will a woman's Hajj be accepted if her husband pays for her Hajj trip?

I work in a hostel for homeless guys. I made all the dinner with help from my workmate and the thanks were along the lines of "Aye well that was nice hen but you'll be getting paid double time for this" Is it me or does anyone else feel deflated by the whole Christmas "thing" now?

My cross-country team is having a Christmas party and we're doing secret santa. Of course, I have a wicked shy girl that rarely talks. The limit is $10-$15 dollars. I need ideas please!

As we woke to Christmas Morning, there was cheer in the air, folks wiping away the sleepies in their eyes, and mom, dad put coffee on.....anticipating the glee of the family to find nice wonderful presents under the tree.....oh, the excitement!

What did you find?

I got another gift of life this year. First I woke up to my 49th Christmas, and then I got a very Nice Cockatiel. She belonged to a soldier, and needed a good home. Some one gave her to me with cage and all because they know how much I love animals and birds. So I had a very nice Christmas!

What did you get?

I'm not talking about those who are tolerent but don't beleive. It's about those people who speak up to keep religeon and prayers out of schools and work places because it infringes their rights but will still take christmas day off as a payed holiday. should these people work and refuse a christmas bonus and a paid holiday?
It's time we speak up against those who speak up hypocritically.
