I live in London and some friends are coming to visit me next week. On Saturday it's St Patrick's Day and they're really exicited about it. I thought we could go to some Irish pubs to have some food and drinks. Last year I was near Covent Garden and it was nice. Is there another nice area, maybe less busy, where we can enjoy the atmosphere anyway? Thanks

okay, so.. this is a sports' day theme for my class..
- what did u wanna be when u were a kid- (like 5 or 6 yrs of age)..

I was thinking.. "princess".. "snow white".. "cop".. & I really dun wanna have to rent a costume.. I wud look silly running laps in a dress... seriously.. ^^"

I need to ask a kid this, but everyone I know is pretty much my age...

any ideas?? suggestions? memories maybe... hehe... ... I'll take pretty much anything.. plzzz... ^-*

I admit, I am Irish, but in all the years of my life, i don't think i've ever knew the origin of the holiday. When i was a kid, we always had family gatherings on that day, but to this day, I don't have the foggiest idea why. LOL

I also don't know why people of other cultures tend to celebrate it. Perhaps it's because of the green beer? Corned Beef and Cabbage? Or maybe they think they will have the luck of the Irish, at least for one day..
