Who in their right mind would go to New Orleans for St. Patricks Day? Not only that, but in Yahoo!'s top 5 list, they didn't even have Savannah, Ga!

Party in the South? Yes! Without a doubt! But for St Patty's I'll take Savannah over New Orleans always. Especially now that crime is sooo bad in New Orleans.

I am someone who just moved here to New Orleans but I used to go to school at Georgia Southern and went to Savannah every year for 5 years to St. Patty's Day. I agree that Savannah should be up there. It's almost as big as Mardi Gras in my opinion. But there is parades here in New Orleans and this is a drinking town which is perfect for an Irish celebration. I think there is nothing wrong with coming here for St. Patrick's Day weekend. This weekend there was a lot of tourists in town. I would say if you came here or went to Savannah you would have a good time.
Hard to choose one over the other but I think Savannah should be up there with New Orleans for St. Patty's day.

Halloween and St.Patty's day in New Orleans are the two biggest holidays besides Mardi Gras. St. Patty's day has parades and floats. It's alot of fun.

That, and New Orleans is a MAJOR drinking and partying town. The Irish are very much into their liquor and entertainment...

And speaking of the crime, the crime is so over-exagerrated it makes me sick. Yes, the French Quarter and the Marigny are pretty bad areas, but they've always been bad. I am a young, white female living alone and have no problems when I walk around at night. I never get hassled. The most anyone has done to me was call me "pretty" or request a smile from me. And those are in the bad parts!

And what the **** is a Savannah, Georiga? haha.

properly even as i became turning out to be up i concept it became Patty's, yet later I realized it became Paddy's. i imagine it truly is likely quite usually individuals that say Patty. i understand now that Paddy is the nickname for Patrick, as Patty may be the nickname for the female form - Patricia. reliable question, Abbiekate! :)
