The muslims of TODAY have nothing to 9/11 which was in the PAST. Most of the terrorist have been KILLED or CAUGHT with the EXCEPTION of Osama Bin Laden. So, should today's muslims been held accountable for the actions of their ANCESTORS?

I met this really sweet guy. He is Mexican and I am Black. I speak limited Spanish, but I can follow a conversation though. He speaks limited English, but he can understand for the most part. But I want to have an extensive conversation with him besides the basic daily talk and I cant express myself without us sitting at the computer.

If something is too difficult to put into words, I will type the English version and it will show the Spanish translation with an audio pronounication. It is actually a fun learning tool, but it gets difficult sometimes if we are at a various location without the assistance.

I have been desperately been wanting to learn Spanish & Arabic for years. It's really mandatory in America. I am wondering can this work in the long run? Has anyone else tried this? What is a good way to start learning another language? Talking with someone daily will help I suppose because you hear it all day everyday.

My soon to be mother-in-law hates me because I am white, and her daughter is black. She has told my fiance that she doesn't want me around and the her last boyfriend, who was black but he treated her horribly and cheated on her constantly, is better than I could ever be. I have been successful as a teacher and writer, and am now even teaching college, and I have been honest about who i am and given her nothing but respect, but she has made it clear that because I am white, I am, to quote her, "a piece of ****". She has said that she wants nothing to do with me, and if my fiance marries me, wants nothing to do with her, or any children we may have. What can I do?

of the african american male. I go tothe news stand and see GQ,Esquire, Men's Health. but when i look for something I can identify with, all i get is Black Man and KING. There is more to my life thanjust a half naked sister on the front cover. Ebony is positive,no doubt, but what about black fashion, wall street movers and shakers in Armani suits, fatherhood, fashion, spirituality, etc. Wher can I find that kind of periodical?

On my way home from my job I have to cut threw the richest neighborhood in my city. I notice all of the immigrant yard workers and maids working at these huge homes. Could this be George Bush and his rich friends reason for fighting so hard to have some illegal immigrants stay in the USA? Does he really care about these people? Is he only seeing very cheap labor for him and his rich friends? What do you believe is going on? I have never had a problem with the illegal immigrants. We all would do the same thing in there position. It's funny how people like Bill O'reilly spins the blame on to the immigrants instead of the greedy people who use these people and don't pay them hardly anything in return for there service. O'reilly probably has cheap illegal foreign labor at his big compound.

ive seen it both on the uk site and the usa site,
That british women'are being targeted by muslim lads ie:rape ;etc.
It's just recently that five muslim gentalmen came to my aid.
they basicly saved my life.
But with all the bad press,"I was scared", I was alone and there was five of them,
my car reard of the road and went down a bank and landed on it's roof.
id broke my arm and was in so much pain.
they realised how scared i was and they were so gental and kind and said nice things,
what made me come to my sences was that one of the older gentalmen placed my crucifix in my hand,It was always on my dashboard.
"There was something wrong" and they said they would have to move me.
ten min's later the car exploaded.
I was so ashamed of my behaviour.that i started crying,
and the thing is police turned up. As did ambulance and I was moved to a hospital, I never said thankyou.
THERE'S GOOD AND BAD EVERY WERE, WHY CAN'T WE JUST LIVE AND LET LIVE A LITTLE.

Do you think people really comprehend what they read? I posted "Pulling the race card or does racism still exist? Do you think racism still exist?

I qualified the question by saying " I just read where a young lady said "Black people want to be superior" based on that statement I asked the above question.

One of the replies was " wow. you are a perfect example of a form of racism - why are you trying to eneralize entire groups of ppl...very ignorant..and you're extremely naive if you think racism doesnt exist honey...get educated fast. "

I do not think she read or comprehended the question as I made no generalizations of any kind. I never was inclusive of any group saying all black people or all asian people, etc. Yet I was called a racist the funny thing is I am a minority person of color. One young lady said I must not be a minority.

NEW QUESTION. Has skimming rather than reading and drawing inferences rather than comprehending become the new trend?

When I see some of the outpourings on Y/A I get the impression that a great number of Americans regard themselves as fundamentaly superior to the citizens of say Iran or Iraq. They seem to feel that these people are part of an homogenised entity that is dedicated to hatred and evil and as such worthy of attack. What is it in the American Psyche that
creates an attitude that is so clearly at odds with logic and common sense?

well im black and my neighborhood and friends are extremely diverse. i hang out with ppl from pretty much every race and several cultures. i love it. however ive gone to private schools my entire life which i love...but they tend to be predominantly white. so im 17...mostly white school etc...

one time in class like 5 different girls said that they didnt like asians for such and such reasons. one girl blatantly said "i hate them because they cant drive..." and she basically said she aviods them..of course i told her straight out she was racist and it says something about how her parents raised her.

my friend chels once told me she thought asians were unattractive. i guess i could relate because even though im blk ive never been into blk guys -preference but still based on race.one b4 she said "hispanics are dirty"..ive heard like 10 of my classmates say that b4 and i always have to defend myself like wtf? you're ignorant 4 rtying to generalize an entire race. thoughts?

Racism isa bad thing. Can racism be negative and postive eg whites are better than blacks. Positive to whites negative to blacks. Can racism be justified? What if you be-little your own people? Is that alright.

Please help!

Do you think racism still exist?
Admitedly I think race is used as a cop out for all lot of things and when it is appropriate people are skeptical but do you really believe that all things are equal for people of color in America? I just read where a young lady said "Black people want to be superior" I do not believe that. Just look to the messages society send about latinos, blacks and asians for proof. How someone who is non white develops a superiority complex in that context is amazing. I think black people have poor leadership picked by the media like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson they are opportunist and this is maginified because of race and there loud opportunist come in all shades. Blacks do not pick battles well and choose to focus on nonsense instead of real issues some latino groups to more black. I think minorities are marginalized esp. latinos, blacks and asians. Native Americans are completely over looked (my opinion). WHY? DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE RACE IS NOT A FACTOR
