This question dawned on me watching American Idol last night. Please... I don't need the politically correct lectures about how "no race is better than another" and about how "a great singer" is someone's opinion. I know all that stuff. Just answer the question. Put it this way. Of all the black people and white people with great voices, which voices are truly better in your opinion- Blacks or whites?

why do people assume that just because i am black that I am illiterate? I am a very well educauted young african american wonan. I may not be the smartest person in the world, but I do have feelings like everyone else. I feel like most of the people that answeres my last question did not give it much thought because of the wording. I don't understand and race and their thoughts of being superior to another race. In my eyes and in God's eyes, every human being looks the same. Scientifically, all humans are 99.9% the same; differences being inherited traits and skin tone[[in other words:: race]] Why do people of one race underestimate the intelligence levels of other races? Why do they automatically stereotype? WHY??

The other day this black guy came to my door (talking about poverty in ghetto neighborhoods) he asked me and my husband if we grew up with a silver spoon? I told him no way, my father was a NYC firefighter and my mom was a stay at home mom, my husbands family are from the farms of kentucky and virginia, out of 6 kids my youngest sister is the first person in my family to get a college degree and she is trying to pay it off our parents couldn't pay for it, we all have good jobs but its because we had to go through the crappy ones to get them, ( live in a duplex) are there really people out there who think just because your white everything must have been handed to you? because i have heard this before, i'm 24 and my husband is 23, we have no kids, he is in the Air Force and i work in an office, we have new cars and furniture but we have worked for everything we have,

So, I've been thinking of a way to use this Q&A to break stereotypes because I read SO many of them on here.
I am thinking that everyday I will post a new stereotype and see how many people are suprised to read that it is not true.

Here's the third one:

Stereotype: Native American people migrated here from Asia

Truth: The Land Bridge Theory is a good example of scientific racism.

Additional Information:
The land bridge theory is just a theory. It is in fact, scientific racism.
There is more evidence against the theory than for it. There is actually little to no evidence to prove the theory. Most scientists, scholars, and common citizens today believe in this theory on bind faith. They do no research to see if it is true. Why was it created?
So that settlers and their descendants didn't have to feel guilt about stealing this land. Their thinking is that if Natives were immigrants we all had equal rights to it. Well, there is no evidence to support this.

I've lived in a small apartment building (12 homes) for 1.5 year. I'll live here another year + a half. We're in town for educational reasons. My neighbors aren't the most friendly people, but they're not UNfriendly either. I come from a closely knit family & neighborhood. I want to know these people better!

My concerns are: we're close to a large medical campus w/ probably 5 colleges in a 7 mile vacinity, so, it is very diverse! I have Muslim, Hindu & Christian neighbors of black, white, Chinese, Egyptian, Indian + Latino descent, all in 1 small bldg.. I don't want to offend anyone, & I want them to COME, so I need a little advice.

I'm thinking of setting the party for March 17, but leaving it "unthemed." -also thinking about

I have given many interveus ? but still i am not getting the job . i am very depressed? i feel because of my short hiegt i dont get the job. every one keep abusing me. i dont like people who keeps pinpionting holes in anther coat. as i am introvert i feel no one notice introverts achievements very quickly . extroverts are able to drag attention to themselves because of their talkative nature . now see to rakhi sawant only. i think its good to be extrovert.i have many problms in my life . i know its not good to keep talking about urself. its important to give importance to other to gain importance.

My family, and me of course, are Black. But it bothers me that our races, especially in the states, call themselves “African American”. We might be from African origins but I have nothing to do with Africa! I was born here, of black skin and I am an American. If you ask about my color, the answer is: I am BLACK, thank you very much. So don’t be calling me African American. Be proud of your race, and your country – you are black, and an American! I served the armed forces, and I was born here. All said….. did you read this Oprah!?!?!?
