All military branches learn war history. Mostly military officers. Enlisted learn more war tactics, and the officers learn history and the art of war.

edit.....

Semper Fi 83 down below me here sounds a little childish. a former marine? born in 83? couldnt have been a marine for very long.

History of ancient military tactics are not a secret. Marines study them as well as anyone else who wants to look into it. There is no secret when it comes to killing....just knowledge

giving away tactical informatin about a unit while in war is a diferent subject.

Hey!! I think you were watching the same show as me on TV last night....

My brother only remembers the Spartans, Zulu and Apaches in particular. He said they talked about a lot of different warrior culture aspects, without getting into specifics of who is who.

Why only Zulus/Apaches? Weren't the Scandinavians/Vikings "warrior cultures" too?

Anyway, why not? If it can be proven that a people were successful elsewhere in war, why not utilize what you can?

My friend says he knows a 100 ways to kill somebody. But he hasn't said much else about the marines. Sounds interesting.

As a former Marine in a society of threats against our borders, I would never disclose any of our military tactics. don't you care about national security?
