Why did You make me Black?
Why did You make me someone
The world wants to hold back?

Black is the color of dirty clothes;
The color of grimy hands and feet.
Black is the color of darkness;
The color of tire-beaten streets.

Why did you give me thick lips,
A broad nose and kinky hair?
Why did You make me someone
Who receives the hatred stare?

Black is the color of a bruised eye
When somebody gets hurt.

How come my bone structure's so thick;
my hips and cheeks are high?
How come my eyes are brown
and not the color of the daylight sky?

Why do people think I'm useless?
How come I feel so used?
Why do some people see my skin and think I should be abused?

Lord, I just don't understand;
What is it about my skin?
Why do some people want to hate me
And not know the person within?

Black is what people are "listed",
When others want to keep them away.
Black is the color of shadows cast.
Black is the end of the day.

Lord, You know, my own people mistreat me;
And I know this just isn't right.
They don't like my hair or the way I look
They say I'm too dark or too light.
Lord, Don't You think it's time
For You to make a change?
Why don't You re-do creation
And make everyone the same?

lol i think this question is hilarious. i already know the answer to this question im just curious what the rest of the world thinks (you would be surprised at some responses)..i think that unless its braids id never get hair extensions and id never glue it in!! NOTE: I KNOW THAT MANY MANY OTHER RACES DO THIS AS WELL BUT ITS MOST PROMINENT AMONG AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN. (not including CELEBRITIES!! but the fake hair is becoming very popular! - at the senior prom last year most girls got hair extensions!!) lol okay please answer this question without trying to be scientific in reason reason - its hair. i dont want to know differences in hair folicle of each race-just why you think black women resort to this!!! by the way i am black. i hate my hair but if you wanna see it go to my myspace ( lmao) http://www.myspace.com/ashleyiscoocoo4coacoapufs

We are Hindu Brahmins.My son has had to sign an affidavit before he could get married to a Catholic girl agreeing to his children being baptized.We have had no such pre-conditions. W e want the girl to continue with her religion and our son to practice oursTheir church has forced this before allowing the church--ceremony which our daughter-in-law wanted to be held and was.We are very upset and dont know how to deal with this--any help

I have this arch nemesis who loved to go on and on about how intelligence was different and genetically linked to one's "racial" group. He loved to use the Bell Curve theory to explain why people were the way they were. Although he had a 4.0 in college and was smart, he was a total jerk. I had the same grades too but I did not go around rubbing it in people's faces.
Long story short, I dared him to get a genetics test ---you know that test that tells you your genetic percentages like if you are 100% Anglo, African, East asian, Indo European, etc. Well he got his test back and found out that he was half West African, and a quarter Indo-European and like a quarter Anglo. He was smashed because he thought that he was 100% Scottish and he looked down on EVERYONE, If someone of another person from an ethnic group did a great job on something academic, athletic, or artistic he would just totally dismiss it. Now he is coming around me for advice and is looking sad.

nationalism or patriotism .. ok... let it happen in small doses, but when you start reading specific comments in here i feel like sending an abuse report for 'advanced stupidity'.

A person who pays to join Cherokee nation and is barely 1/16th Native American can get money for it. But other people who are 1/4, 1/2, or 100% get absolutely nothing.

There's all this bad talk about blacks getting reparations but then someone who is obviously all Scottish or Irish gets grants/ and reparations after paying 50 bucks to join Cherokee nation.

I'm just saying this because I am 1/3 Chikasaw, 1/3 Choctaw, and 1/3 Ethiopian and no one is paying me anything. I should get reparations too.

There is something going on with the youth these days. There is this new thing with young girls kicking boys between the legs at school. It appears to be primarily the middle school aged. I have seen a few YA questions about it, I thought it was nothing then. Someone i know who is a middle school teacher told me that the girls at the school actually make it a game and keep count. Thats crazy to me. Have any of you heard about this, and if you have what do you think about this. Is this just a harmless phase, or is it going to have some serious pyschology affects for the girl and the boy who was kicked. What do you think?
